John Dow

In the early 90's, along came the Internet and World Wide Web to the forefront. I was working a large migration project at the time for a local computer manufacturer. As it turned out, I did more about introducing the Internet and Web to the company and it's IT staff in the end. In those days, there was only one browser and most of the content was text based. But there was a tremendous volume of information for IT folks and I could see it was the beginning of a whole new ballgame. After that project I still managed projects for big business but I also worked with small companies to incorporate the Internet into their business. As the Internet presence grew, so did the market. I started working with clients to help market their products or services on the Internet. Many of my current clients work exclusively through the Internet. Most of the work I do now is planning, designing, and implementation of web projects. Many of these projects involve both web site design and marketing for both small and large businesses. I even get to do some of the coding myself these days which I really enjoy. Helping businesses adapt to the Internet is both challenging and interesting. The trick is to adapt proven traditional marketing techniques to Internet strategies. This involves everything from web content and programming to developing new business processes to enhance day to day operation.
