 Terry MitchellI've been a software developer/engineer for over 24 years. I have an Associate of Applied Science degree in computer programmer and an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts. I came from a very poor background. I grew up in the housing projects, but finished in the top 10% of my high school graduating class. I attended a community college on government grants and work-study programs and begin my career in software development the week after finishing my studies. I'm constantly learning about new technologies via on-the-job training and technical classes. I had many health problems, including severe asthma, when I was growing up. I am also a cancer survivor. At age 34, I was diagnosed with stage testicular cancer. However, after surgery and 12 grueling weeks of chemotherapy, I was declared cured and have been cancer-free ever since.Interests and Hobbies: I have a blog that I update daily (see my homepage URL). Until just a few short years ago, I hated writing. However, thanks mostly to the Internet, I have recently developed a deep interest in it. I now enjoy writing about current events, politics, religion, personal finance, health and wellness, society and culture, technology, and sports. In my spare time, I am a free-lance writer and amateur political analyst. I have had many articles published on the web and in various periodicals. I'm also a humorist and trivia buff.
