Ryan Ward

I am a student at College of the Canyons community college in Valencia, California, majoring in Journalism. I have become very interested in sports journalism over the past six months and have been looking for ways to write about the sport that I love and adore. Then I came across your site.

Interests and Hobbies:
Writing, is obviously a no brainer! Along with sports, I have a deep passion for sports which goes all the way back to my father's childhood. The minute I got the feeling of not wanting to lose and would do anything to overcome an opponent, I was hooked. From my favorite sport basketball to golf, football, soccer, and baseball( now that I am older softball). I am as competitive as can be.

I am also a pretty good artist, which I got from my mother's side. I have been drawing ever since I was sixteen and haven't stopped. Comics was the thing for me, I never really read them I just liked to try and draw what I saw. I just recently drew a self-portrait for a class I was taking and it was something that I thought that I would never accomplish. It bumped up my confidence in myself quite a bit.

I have just realized that I could be a good writer if I am writing about something that I feel truly passionate for and have a strong interest in. I used to hate writing, thought of it as a chore instead of a pleasure. As I get older I see that it is a way of expression that you sometimes can't get face to face or over the phone. Some of the views that I write in articles amaze me, it is as if I am realizes things about myself and the way I think that I can't say or have a difficult time expressing. The more I write, the more I learn and started to like and appreciate it.
