![]() Judi PerkinsI've been a contingency and retained search consultant for 25 years, with a short stint in the temporary and local permanent placement markets. During the 12 years I owned my own firm, I was hired repeatedly by numerous clients. After serving companies for 25 years, I decided to switch focus to the individuals, assisting them in understanding the hiring process so that they are in full control of what's taking place. During my time recruiting individuals, it seemed so many of them were floundering in the process of finding a job - even executives occasionally hadn't stopped to contemplate basic questions, such as what motivates me? The job hunting and interviewing process can be compared to an iceberg: 99% of all individuals think the entire process is the top of it, but there's another 80% under there that, if you don't know what's going on, can trip you up and undermine the success of your entire efforts. There's a free bi-weekly newsletter your can sign up for that will teach you specific aspects of what you need to know to successfully find your perfect job: it's not just how do I get them to hire me but also how do I know if I want to work there? and ultimately - it's a sales game. If you don't know how to package, present, and sell yourself - and what the subtext is behind the scenes, you'll never close the deal. I put out and do invdividual consulting on career paths, What you learn from me is not only more than what you'll find anywhere else, but you'll get it in a radically different manner. I've been in the trenches - I know this stuff inside and out. If you're willing to do the work, you'll find yourself in a great job. Just ask my clients!Interests and Hobbies: Reading voraciously on anything that strikes my fancy at the moment. Currently I am immersed in a book titled ARTEMISIA about Artemisia Gentileschi, a magnificent female painter from the early 1600s. My boyfriend and I travel a lot, sometimes on our touring bike, sometimes by car, occasionally to Europe, where we'd both like to retire. He favors Germany; I'm in love with Italy. The first time I visited there it was so enchanting I promptly came home and began learning the language. Fluent is a relative term, but I'm getting there! And baseball ties up a good amount of time come spring!
