Denny DiGregorioHaving left home by age 14 I first worked in restaurants, as a busboy, dishwasher and cook, my first aspiration was to be a Chef. I love music too, and had the good fortune of getting professional jobs while yet a teenager, for many years making my living recording and playing professionally all over the world. I didn't have as much luck in love however and two marriages ended in divorce. Reeling from the pain of my last divorce with little direction and no children I joined a Russian Orthodox Monastery and served a novitiate. It was as a monk that I had the good fortune of traveling both here and abroad, and I spent time in New Mexico, Georgia , Egypt and the Holy Land. I have since worked as a taxi driver, fry cook, sous chef, managed a cafe, run my own little catering company, been a handyman, a trainer for a community program to assist the unemployed to learn computer skills, and even sold antiques. I currently attend Cybertex Academy and hope to aquire my certifications currently employed as a technical analyst. I love to learn, and hope to be able to continue my education throughout life. I am a Volunteer for VistaCare, and help the terminally ill. Although I've yet to earn my degree, I am proud to distinguish myself as an illumni of the prestigious Tough Luck Academy and the School of Hard Knocks -Class of 2002-2003 and 2004......so far.......Interests and Hobbies: I love history-especially the history of those places I've had the fortune of seeing. So far these places include California, New Mexico, Louisianna, Texas, Georgia, Massachusettes and New York - and across the ocean Egypt, Rome and the Holy City of Jerusalem. I'm fascinated with all periods of history, though my knowledge is not yet very developed, some of my favorites are pre colonial US, specifically the history of the Anastasi and Pharaonic Egypt. I still love music, and still play, record, and write songs, lyrics and poetry for my own pleasure at home. I hope to have more time one day to explore my musical creativity. Anything that can be considered a form of art has my respect and can hold my interest, I make attempts at expessing myself through every medium I become exposed to. My most recent hobby has been that of writing, and I hope to develop an ability to write articles and essays on factual subjects as well as fiction. I hope to use Buzzle as a place to find my voice as a writer, perhaps I will never develop a knack for it, but I enjoy it immensly. I collect lots of odds and ends, strange antiques, relics, religious artifacts, books, bottles, coins, and anything that I think is interesting, sometimes buying and selling on ebay. I love philosophy and apocryphal writings, and have deep respect for the ancients, I am an Orthodox Christian and take much comfort in the writings of the Holy Fathers and Mystics of early Christianity. I am happy to be a part of the Buzzle online communitey and encourage anyone to respond or reply to anything I've written. I don't consider myself to be a very good writer yet, and I will appreciate your criticism and questions. I have a lot to learn, and I'm honored that I've been accepted as a writer, please help me to become a good one someday. I too have enjoyed many of the articles I've read by others who submit articles here, and I look up to all of you who are writers, I hope that some of your talent will rub off and me. Thanks for including me in the Buzzle family, please don't be strangers! Here's to a successful and educational experience, I hope to hear from some of you, and to paraphrase the infamous Snoop Doggy Dog Fo' Shuzzle my Buzzle.com! |
