 Dale ArnoldI am a geologist and an engineer by profession. I have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and a Master's degree from Texas in Geotechnical Engineering. I have worked in this field for nearly 20 years. I was a consultant for about 15 years. For the past five years, I have been working as a State regulator dealing with dams in the West. I have over a dozen published articles at conferences and in professional journals.Interests and Hobbies: I've lived and worked in the Southwest for 20 years. I enjoy the weather and the outdoors here are quite spectacular. I enjoy hiking and camping with a geological twist. Looking at the oldest rock exposures (over 3 Billion years old!) at the bottom of the Grand Canyon is just as important as admiring the Falls in the Canyon! Seeing a big chunk of turquoise being picked up with raw copper ore in Arizona is just as impressive as the hydraulic shovel that fills a haul truck in two scoops!
