Catie FitzgeraldCatie began her personal finance career as a stockbroker for a national securities broker/dealer. As a stockbroker, she placed an emphasis on educating her clients regarding the how and why of financial planning, helping them feel confident to make their own financial decisions. In addition to her work with her own clients, Catie conducted monthly seminars open to the public to provide an educational resource for local women regarding personal finance matters.In June 1996, Catie Fitzgerald founded Financially Savvy as a place where investors could learn about personal money management. As a stockbroker, Catie discovered a niche in the financial world that needs filling: personal finance education. In 1996, Catie resigned from her position as a stockbroker so she could create Financially Savvy where she could devote herself full-time to teaching people how to manage their money. Catie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles. Currently, Catie is enrolled in the College of Financial Planning taking the course work necessary to attain the professional designation of Certified Financial Planner (CFP). She intends on sitting for the CFP exam in 2005. |
