Johnny SummertonJohnny Summerton is a Paris-based broadcaster, writer and journalist specialising in politics, sport and travel, but willing and able to cast his net wider to take a look at just about anything that grabs his fancy. He has worked in Britain, Germany, Switzerland and France as a presenter and contributor for a number of international news organisations including Radio France Internationale, Swiss Radio International, Eurosport and BBC World. At the moment he 's flexing his slightly technophobe muscles in trying to get to grips with the joys of blogging and bring his knowledge and perspective to a wider audience. One of his sites looks at political affairs making the headlines here in France. It explains in a straightforward but informed way some of the workings of the political system, the key players involved, policy decisions and their possible implications. But it's not all as dry as it sounds. There are also plenty of other stories he covers, which reflect the diversity the reader would hope and expect to find. His other blog is more personal and allows him to give free reign to some of his thoughts and impressions during his travels as he lugs his oh-so-heavy laptop with him.
In no particular order: politics (of course), food and wine (hard not to be totally over indulgent living in France), cocker spaniels (he owns a couple of them - adorable if somewhat loopy dogs), soppy films, football (sadly a couch potato spectator), opera, dance and much much more. |
