 Carol AdlerI am a professional writer, editor and teacher of English and creative writing with over 40 years of experience. Currently I am President/CEO of Dandelion Books, LLC (dandelion-books.com), an 8-year-old full service online publishing and book marketing company, and President/CEO of Dandelion Enterprises, Inc. (write-to-publish-for-profit.com). My earlier business experience includes co-ownership of a Palm Beach, FL public relations company and executive management positions in two U.S. rejuvenation and mind/body wellness corporations for which I founded publishing divisions. My publications include four books of poetry, well over two hundred poems and several fiction and non-fiction works. I publish my fiction under a pseudonym. As a ghost writer, I have developed and written manuscripts for a number of professionals in the health care and human potential industries, and recently I developed a novel for pre-teens with a Harry Potter-type female protagonist. I have served as editor of several poetry and literary magazines, and my career includes extensive teaching of college English poetry, fiction, non-fiction and business writing, and conducting of writing workshops in Florida and New York State prisons, libraries, elementary, junior and high schools, and senior citizen centers. I have a B. A. in philosophy and English from the U. of Michigan, and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Vermont College.Interests and Hobbies: I am an avid reader of non-ficiton, fiction and poetry, and I love classical music, the visual and plastic arts, dance and theater. I also love hiking, swimming and biking, and I used to be a devoted runner. I am also a certified hypnotherapist and an active member and officer of the Arizona Society for Professional Hypnosis (hypnosisaz.org). |
