Gril Markin

I was born in 1958 in Leicester, a Roman city situated in the East Midlands, United Kingdom. He was educated at the Wyggeston Grammar School and read Modern and Mediaeval Languages at Emmanuel College, Cambridge, eventually majoring in Phonetics and Linguistics. After graduating, he did freelance research, charitable work and taught French and German, before taking up a position in 1986 as Research Assistant in the Department of Computer Science, University of Sheffield, providing phonetic expertise on a speech recognition project funded by the UK Alvey programme.

Interests and Hobbies:
My main hobby is ice dancing.
