Charlotte Laws

Charlotte Laws was elected in Spring 2004 to the Greater Valley Glen Council. She is now serving her third term. In Spring 2006, she was appointed by Los Angeles Mayor Villaraigosa to be a 912 Commissioner. She is also a syndicated columnist, Realtor and the President of the League for Earth and Animal Protection (LEAP).

She earned a Ph.D. in Social Ethics from the University of Southern California and has two Master's Degrees (Social Ethics and Professional Writing) and two BA Degrees (Philosophy and Theatre). She completed Postdoctoral coursework at Oxford University, England.

Charlotte is the author of the books Meet the Stars and Armed for Ideological Warfare, as well as numerous articles (Newsweek, L.A. Daily News, E the Environmental Magazine, et al). She has appeared on Larry King Live, Fox News, Oprah Winfrey and The Late Show, as well as many other TV programs.

Charlotte hosts the TV show Uncommon Sense, which first aired in Spring 2007.

She is the founder and president of the Los Angeles Directors of Animal Welfare. She devotes much time to nonprofit causes mostly related to the arts, animal liberation / rights, environmentalism and education. Charlotte was an
actress and model.
