Gene Krebs

My passion is photography. I have spent over 30 years in the hospitality industry. A Swiss and American citizen, I learned the hotel business from the bottom up in Europe, working in Lausanne, Grindelwald, Zurich, Berlin, Florence and Madrid, and speaking fluent English, German, French, Spanish and Italian. My career has taken me from Europe to Bermuda and to the States.

Today I have a portfolio of over 500 files on iStockphoto.com and am an exclusive contributor of stock photography to that site. My sales, while still modest, continue to grow, and every month is better than the previous one. I have an extensive creative network of photographers located throughout the world, and enjoy communicating with them in many of the five languages I speak.

Interests and Hobbies:
My personal interests are photography and cooking. Growing up in New Jersey,I learned French cuisine at the Hotel School of Lausanne and subsequently worked professionally as a chef in Switzerland, Madrid, and in New England. I thoroughly enjoy cooking. I visualize a taste and feel of a meal, and then prepare it.

Photography has been my passion since I had my first Brownie Hawkeye at the age of 9. By the time I was 13 I had my own darkroom and homemade enlarger, made out of a wooden box with a light on top and an old Kodak bellows camera on the bottom. Although there were times in my life when I was less active in photography, I have always been taking pictures in my mind of everything I see.

Finally, I also enjoy a good game of golf.
