![]() William DorichWilliam Dorich began his career as a commercial photographer and for a number of years worked under a Top Secret clearance with numerous Westcoast companies in the NASA space program. He went on to spent 20 years in commercial printing sales including 8 years as regional sales manager for two major printing companies before establishing GM Books.com in 1985, after his first self-publishing book experience. He has since written 4 books on Balkan history including the 1991 book, The Serbian Genocide-1941-45, with with cowriters, the late David Martin, author of The Web of Disinformation (1989) and the late Michael Lees, author of The Rape of Serbia (1989). His 1992 book, Kosovo, was cowritten with 6 Balkan historians was published by the Kosovo Charity Fund in association with I.O.C.C.—(International Orthodox Christian Charities). The book raised $250,000 used to aid the more than 30,000 Serbian orphans of the Bosnian Civil War. In 1994, he wrote, The Suppressed Serbian Voice and the Free Press in America, A Brief History of Serbian Music (1995, 2nd Edition), and Hilandar's Octocentenary (2003, 2nd Edition) which commemorates the 800th anniversary of the Hilandar Monastery on Mt. Athos. Mr. Dorich is currently writing a book entitled, The Nursing Home Crisis scheduled for release by the end of 2007 and based on the wrongful death of his mother in a nursing home. He is also writing Stop Foreclosure, utilizing his 14 years of experience as a licensed Realtor in California. In 1997, the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church bestowed, The Order of St. Sava on Mr. Dorich—the highest recognition given to a lay person by the Serbian Orthodox Church. He is also the 1997 recipient of an Award of Merit by the Serbian Bar Association of America. He was a correspondant for the American Srbobran for over a decade, published in Pittsburgh,PA, and his articles have appeared in, The Washington Times, Washington Post, Arizona Republic, Wall Street Journal, International Herald Tribune, Chicago Tribune, American Bar Association Journal, and Heritage Southwest Jewish Press. He began gmbooks.com in 1985 and has produced and published over 120 titles including Witness to War: Images of the Persian Gulf War for the Los Angeles Times which won a Pulitzer.
