Zwilight (A Story about Vampires)

An original love story about vampires and humans.
Tedward checked the small piece of parchment.... 1235 Augusta Lane. It was the correct address alright. He shivered with anticipation as he slid in through her open window, the drapes billowing around him in the cool evening breeze. The fact that he was a vampire, a chosen one, made it easier for him to travel under a veil of silence and mystery. Tonight, his silent approach wasn't completely necessary, but Tedward thought it a bit more romantic than just coming in through the front door. He'd awaited this night for a long time. He could almost taste her lips now... So soft and inviting... So full and perfect... He'd met Stella one night in a beautiful wooded glen. Being a mere mortal, she feared him but was uncontrollably attracted to him all at once. They fell into each others arms and embraced deeply as a symphony of crickets and tree frogs sang softly in the trees. Tonight, however, they would finally consummate their love.

As he stepped away from the window, he saw her there, lying on her back in a black silk nightgown, her eyes closed, her mouth parted slightly. She had no doubt attempted to wait up for him as he had asked her to do, but the burden of sleep was too heavy and she'd drifted off. Tedward understood. He smiled and seated himself on the bed next to her. Stella looked so peaceful lying there. So beautiful, all laid out before him in the dark. If his kin knew of him being there, they would surely destroy him, but one cannot pass up true love... Especially a love as deep as this one.

Tedward gently brushed the delicate strands of hair away from her face with his pale hand. He softly stroked her cheek and leaned down to kiss her forehead. As he kissed Stella softly, he saw her eyelids flutter as she was drawn from her slumber. Tedward smiled and kissed her again.

"Hello my love." Tedward whispered.

"Huh? What's going on?" Stella replied, rubbing her eyes and squinting up at him.

"I've come to you just as I promised I would. I've missed you desperately since the last time you were in my arms."

"What?? Holy shit!!! Who the fuck are you?!?! GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY HOUSE!!!" Stella screamed in horror, staring up at Tedward's pale face.

"Stella...Settle down my dove, it's me, Tedward." He said, still remaining quite calm.

"WHO THE FUCK IS TEDWARD?!?! I DON'T KNOW YOU!! GET OUT OF MY FUCKING HOUSE YOU PERVERT!!!" Stella shrieked and reached for a lamp that was sitting on the nightstand, grabbing it and annihilating it over Tedward's head.
Tedward cried out in pain. His pain was, however, more emotional than physical. What was she doing??

"YOU DIRTY SON OF A BITCH!! HOW DARE YOU BREAK INTO MY HOME!!!", Stella roared and snatched a wooden stake from under the bed.

"Please... Stella... What are you doing? It's me! I'm here for...." Tedward trailed off in shock as he felt Stella force him back onto the bed and drive the wooden stake directly into his chest. He stared down at the stake protruding from his torso and then back up at Stella, the woman who'd stolen his heart and soul.
"Why....." he gasped.
Tears streamed down his face as Stella grabbed a large mallet and started violently hammering the stake deeper and deeper into his chest cavity.
As the life left his eyes and his body became limp, the piece of parchment with Stella's address fell from his hand and a breeze swept it out the window and over the front lawn, coming to rest beside a mailbox with the numbers, "1233", boldly painted on both sides in a large red font.

Back at Tedward's lair, his brother Gladius was sharpening his fangs on a grindstone when he noticed something on the small table by the front door.

"Hey mom!", Gladius shouted, his mouth full of tooth shavings, "Tedward forgot his glasses! He cant see a God damned thing without ‘em!"

Tedward's mother stepped from the steaming kitchen with a large basket of what looked like baked goods in her hands, a huge smile on her fat face.

"I do declare! You boys will be the death of me!", she said with laugh, drawing boisterous guffaws from Gladius and everyone else in the household. "Now who wants some God damn muffins?"
