From the pre-historic times, man has been fascinated by the stars and planets in the sky. As time passed, he observed that these planets and stars are in constant movement. He also noticed that some groups of stars were in a particular formation that corresponded to a particular picture. These groups of stars are called Constellations. There are thousands of such constellations in the sky.

The Sun is a star around which the earth and other planets form an orbit. The planetary system, to which the earth belongs, is therefore called the Solar System.

Man also observed that the sun moved from one constellation to the other as time passed. Generally, it was noted that the sun stayed in one constellation for the period of one month.

The sky above us forms a kind of a circle, which is 360 degrees. The sun moves from constellation to constellation over a period of a month, which means it travels 30 degrees every month to complete this circle. Thus, there are 12 divisions of the sky. The constellations in the sky which correspond to this movement are the 12 constellations. These are called the 12 Signs of the Zodiac.

Zodiac Sign: Elements and Personality

Your Zodiac sign gives a glimpse of your inherent personality. This does not mean, for example, that all the Aries people in the world are alike and so on. It just means that certain character traits are common to almost all the Aries people.

There are several books and internet websites that give a lot of information about the character traits of each Zodiac Sign.

Each of these Zodiac Signs is also classified into one of the four Elements. These four Elements and their corresponding Zodiac Signs are:

Fire signs are compatible with other fire signs, and Air signs. Air signs are compatible with other Air signs, and Fire signs. Water signs are compatible with other Water signs, and Earth signs. Earth signs are compatible with other Earth signs, and Water signs.

This translates to: Fire and Air signs being compatible with each other, and Earth and Water signs being compatible with each other.

Dependability

Like I have mentioned before, there are no hard and fast rules about signs being compatible with each other. There are several other factors at play when the compatibility of two individuals is to be seen, even from an Astrological point of view.

Two people being compatible with each other, is totally a matter of understanding and maturity. I have personally seen examples of people with traditionally "un-compatible" Zodiac signs being together for years.

Of course, there is a point where you analyze their astrological charts and find out that either their Moon signs or their Ascendant signs do fall under the rules of this list.

Be that as it may, relationships are complex and the inter-play of emotions and feelings cannot be summarized in a list. However, some observation does lead you to gaining an understanding of another person's basic character traits and the elemental driving force from within.

Sun Sign Compatibility is not supposed to be a limiting factor in relationships. Instead, zodiac compatibility only aims at creating a better understanding among two individuals. Hopefully, it helps you relate to another on a deeper level, thus helping a relationship gain stability and strength.
