Youth Activities

Today's youth spend more time with an Xbox or Nintendo rather than indulging in any activities. Maybe because of the lifestyle or the technological advancements, we are going away from the fun of being together and building the bond. Though the percentage of kids and even few adults going out and exploring themselves is also huge. Group activities are not only fun but also teach youngsters about bonding, friendship, and leadership which helps them to find within themselves, the leaders of tomorrow.

Examples of Youth Activities

Mentioned below are few interesting and fun activities which will help to develop few skills in young people.

Trust Walk
Leadership activities can be very helping. In this game, you need to make pairs. One of the partner will be blindfolded and he/she will be the responsibility of the other partner who will be like a leader. Then, the leader and the other partner will go for a short trek. He will warn the partner of any tree branch, rock,etc. Supervisors will have to confirm the place where they are playing is safe. Later, the partners can reverse roles and play again.

Building Blocks
This activity is one of the best youth team building activities. It will be better if it can be played within a group. In this activity, one of the group members will be a leader and others will be 'builders'. Builders will be given various building materials. The leader will be shown a picture of an object and he will have to verbally describe it to the builders and guide them to make it. The builders cannot see what the object is and also the leader cannot touch their structure. Over here, the leader must be precise in expressing the structure of the object and the builders must learn to work within a team and build the structure. Team building activities like this work best.

Guess Who?
Christian youth activities are a great way to let more teens come to church and be interested in church activities. These activities will make them like coming to church and know more about humane ways of living. In this group activity, every member of the group will have a picture of characters from Bible taped at their backs. A person will not know which character's picture has been taped at his/her back, whereas other participants will be able to see that. So this person will now have ask questions about this Bible character. He can ask questions like if it's a male or female, or new or old testament, etc.

Who Am I?
Indoor activities are very popular. In this activity, every member of the group will write a name of a character on a card and every other member will have to exchange it and take a card other that what he had written. Then they will have to act out like the character written on the card and the first one to identify any character correctly wins.

Caterpillar Race
In this outdoor activity, you will have to make two or more groups, the more members are there in a group more interesting the game gets. You will need to tie a big rope around the waist of every member. There is a single rope and every member will be tied with it. There will be a small track on which there will be obstacles. Now, the members of these group will have to overcome the obstacles which will come in their way. And they will have to make sure that each and every member will have to pass the obstacle in order to reach to the goal. It is one of the best outdoor activities as it encourages team work.
