You’re First
Just a poem I wrote when I was bored in math class. Comments are appreciated.
Blink back the tears
From all these years
Gone way too soon
A dark new moon
The memories are way too strong
The rest of this time will go on far too long
You think of him and all you've done
Then think of him and how he's gone
You see those dark brown demented eyes
The ones that only saw hate and despise
You opened them to a different world
But he saw you as just another girl
Just another girl and nothing more
Someone he could leave battered and bruised across the floor
And that's exactly what he did
He left you alone, hurting, turning insipid
But what did you expect?
Did you think you'd have an effect?
On that cold, black heart
How could you not see it was just you who would be ripped apart?
And now a tear rolls down your cheek
As you think,
He was the best, he was the worst
But most of all, he was your first.
From all these years
Gone way too soon
A dark new moon
The memories are way too strong
The rest of this time will go on far too long
You think of him and all you've done
Then think of him and how he's gone
You see those dark brown demented eyes
The ones that only saw hate and despise
You opened them to a different world
But he saw you as just another girl
Just another girl and nothing more
Someone he could leave battered and bruised across the floor
And that's exactly what he did
He left you alone, hurting, turning insipid
But what did you expect?
Did you think you'd have an effect?
On that cold, black heart
How could you not see it was just you who would be ripped apart?
And now a tear rolls down your cheek
As you think,
He was the best, he was the worst
But most of all, he was your first.
