Your Steps to a Heavenly Bathroom

Bathroom remodeling requires a lot of effort on your behalf. However, this effort does not mean that you need to flip through hundreds of home décor magazines just to gather the perfect image of idea for your bathroom. The most important thing you should do is consider the existing bathroom you already have. What does it really need?
Are you currently thinking of changing your bathroom’s look? You can see what other people have in their bathroom remodeling. This will give you more ideas on the new look of your bathroom. You can also get tips from friends and neighbors on what are the new things you can have in your restroom. You can also get home décor magazines, even the older issues because you might just find something you fancy.

Depending upon your taste or mood, you may opt for bathroom with a refreshing look that will definitely pump up your energy on lazy Sunday mornings or a relaxing, soothing ambiance for those tired nights or a general look that is clean, modern and sophisticated. Delegate "pamper areas" in your bathroom which is a specific spot wherein your can just do all those sort of body pampering like where you can have your own home-made or ready-made mixtures and aromatherapy oils for foot/nail/hand/body spa. Aside from installing a low-emitting bulb in the bathtub area, you may place a candelabrum and burn some scented candles while you relax on a luxurious bath. Provide small benches or rounded chairs so you can take a seat while fixing yourself in front of the mirror and it may also aid you when you apply lotion in your legs or when you shave them. Better, buy foldable or collapsible chairs for easy storage and to save space.

You can have many types of containers to put in all your bathroom essentials. Space is very important in the bathroom. Having a wrong storage system will make your bathroom look too cluttered. Stack your containers in a spot where you can see and make sure they look neat. See through containers will not need labeling as you can see what is inside. However, if you want your bathroom not looking too dull, you can have them in a variety of bright colors. Whatever you choice may be, choose the color that will complement your bathroom the most.

Most people would want their bathroom to look bigger thus better. If you feel that containers will only limit your space, you can have cabinets instead. The best ones are wall-mounted cabinets. They will make your bathroom look bigger and wider. They also save more room. If you have beautifully designed tiles, these wall-mounted cabinets are therefore useful. Place a wide mirror in your bathroom to give it that extra illusion of extensiveness. You can also put two mirrors in if you like.

If you happen to share the bathroom with a partner, try to have two sinks or vanities so you will share or wait for the other one to finish up doing his/her business. You save time and you save yourselves from probable petty arguments. Also, have a separate area for the toilet and for the shower so the two of you can go on with your business without the hassle of waiting. Have a cubicle with a clear or frosted glass door for your bathroom shower and choose a showerhead (which can be permanently-attached or hand-held depending on your taste again) that can function for both hot and cold water.

Place your lighting fixtures on the sides or on the top of mirrors, not somewhere far or underneath so that it you will have a clearer view of yourself when you shave or when you apply makeup. You have a window in your bathroom to invite natural lighting and outdoor breeze thus keeping the bathroom well ventilated and odor-free.

For a more modern or unique look, you may consider having a folding door for your bathroom to save space. As part of the remodeling as well, change the color of your bathroom but try to stick up to two colors only that will blend with each other (like midnight blue and aquamarine or olive green and avocado) so that the room will not be "confusing" to look at. You may also opt for wallpaper which definitely comes in more exciting colors with matching designs.

New design that came from your creativity will give your bathroom that smoking hot look.
