You Were All Of Me

I want you to leave, but I can't ever let you go...
Yesterday, I saw you wait,
For the train to pull on by,
Haven't seen your face,
In a while,
Was wondering when you would come on by,
Collect your clothes and your things,
Pack your car up, pull away,
So I don't have to look at you,
And everything we couldn't be,
Looking at you,
I could see right through.

I left some things,
In your possession,
I was wondering,
If with some reason,
I could have my heart...

Here we go,
Pull away from the shore,
Nobody knows,
How we used to be,
How we tried and we tried,
We'll never know,
Because your eyes were like fire,
Burning through my retinas,
And I couldn't see,
But you were all of me.

Last night, I saw your car,
Pass around a couple of blocks away,
I was wondering if you came home,
It drives me mad,
Knowing you're not here,
And it makes me glad,
That I have nothing to fear.

Here we go,
Pull away from the shore,
Nobody knows,
How we used to be,
How we tried and we tried,
We'll never know,
Because your eyes were like fire,
Burning through my retinas,
And I couldn't see,
But you were all of me.

We can start new,
We can get through it all,
We can hope to,
Stand back-to-back, standing tall,
I don't want to bring you down,
But then again don't want you to walk away,
Half of me wants you to go,
But the other wants us to stay.

Here we go,
All over again,
Pull away from this shore,
Another beginning,
Start her up,
And we'll go,
Anywhere but here,
Where nobody know,
What happened to us, my dear.
