You said that you didn't love me
That you never did
That your love was fake
It was all just a fib

You told me to stay away
To never talk to you
Never darken your doorstep
That I was just like the flu

Uninvited and unwanted
Just a temporary thing
To lie down in bed down
Not worth a ring

Well as I held my head up high
And looked you in the eye
In the strongest voice I could muster
Refused to back down or cry

Because though you lied about loving me
I never did love you
And I must admit

We both played each other
