You Guys Asked For It.... Chapter 1 of My New Story!!
I'm so psyched that you liked my story idea! But wouldn't you know it; I've got a new problem. I can't come up with a title! I've got a lot of ideas, but none of them seem right. And again, sorry if I get into symbolism. It really interests me, but there's a place for everything. Sorry. I'll be quiet and write now.
"So wait, how long has it been?" I asked Josy. I was, of course, referring to the amount of time I had spent swooning over the hottest guy I'd ever known.
"A year and a half," she answered, without even thinking about it. "And all you've ever said to him is 'hi'!"
"C'mon, you try looking at him and keeping a straight face!"
"You're blushing again."
I rolled my eyes but had to laugh. She's right; I was terrible when it came to guys. And call me crazy, but I suspect I've been in love with the same guy since (and yes, I remember the date and time) 7:05 pm, June 22nd, 2008.
My name's Gloria, and not as in Estefan or however you spell her name. It's Gloria Caraway. Put briefly, I'm 16, have long brown-gold wavy hair, glasses, and hazel eyes. My parents say they're blue, and I say they're green. Whatever.
At the moment, I'm on my way to Geometry, which is as boring as you could get. I'm signed up for Advanced Algebra and Pre-Calculus next year, plus College Speech and College Psychology. You may now proceed to call me a nerd.
I get to class and people are wandering around aimlessly. It's just a mess in general. Obviously our teacher has created a seating chart. There's a lot more gossip than usual, too. But it's the beginning of the year, so not everybody knows where they should be or what classes they've signed up for.
A quick glance tells me I'm in the front row, next to some guy who's also on the honors list. I started to turn away but something flashes at the corner of my vision. A certain name.
I practically run to my assigned seat as the bell rang, flustered and panicky. No way. Not possible. We didn't have the same schedule, did we? Or was I just believing rumors? Maybe I just imagined it?
"Sorry I'm late," he said smoothly, handing the teacher a note.
Black hair. Well, not really black...more like really dark brown. And eyes to match. Long hair, I might add. Almost covering his right eye, parted to the side.
Wait, he's in Geometry? With me?? For the next nine weeks??!
