You Give Me Butterflies 4

Lizzie P.O.V

I walked to the park down the end of my street and sat, leaning against a tree as I watched the sky slowly fade into sunset. My mind felt like it was working a 1000 miles an hour and I just wanted it to stop, I heard to crunch of leaves behind me and whipped my head around holding my breath.
"Derek," I breathed "you scared me".

Derek’s P.O.V

My phone beeped meaning I had a message,
Lizzie: what do you want from me Derek?
I ran my fingers through my hair yet again as I tried to come up with something to text Liz to convince her to give me a chance, even if it meant starting of as friends and proving to her that I meant what I said.
Derek: You. I want you. But I realize that this is coming very fast so why don’t we just take it slow, start as friends.

I sat on my bed wondering whether that was the right thing to say, when it came to words and expressing feelings I usually start stuttering and get very nervous. After half an hour and still no response from Lizzie I was starting to get claustrophobic in my room and looked out my window at the park across the road. Perfect, I thought. I walked down the stairs, out the door and across the road to the park. I breathed in the air and looking up at the sky watched the different colors as the sun began to set. I had never had feelings so intense like this before, so I had no idea what to do. I looked down at my feet as the leaves on the ground crunched under my feet as I walked further into the park.

"Derek," Lizzie breathed "you scared me".
I whipped my head up and stopped when I heard her, I was just as much surprised to see her as she was me, but man, was she beautiful.
"Umm, hi Lizzie, sorry I didn’t see you".
What the hell was wrong with me!? My palms started to get all sweaty like I was nervous, this has never happened to me before with a girl. I watched as she stood up and brushed the leaves off herself.
"So…" I started..
"Derek wait I’ve been thinking, and maybe we could try the friend’s thing, see how it goes".
I took the two steps forward I needed to take to be directly in front of her and stared into her eyes, I couldn’t believe my luck, there was no way I was going to mess this up now.

Lizzie P.O.V

My stomach was in full butterfly mode as I watched him walk up to stand in front of me. His face broke out into this humongous smile, so big that it was contagious and before I knew it I was smiling right back at him.
"You have no idea how happy you’ve made me" He said.
"So, what now?" I asked.
"Anything you want, we could start by I dunno talking?"
So we sat down where I was before, leaning against the tree and we talked.
"So, do you have any brothers and sisters?" Derek asked.
"Nope, just me my mum and my dad. What about you?"

"Ahh lets see I have a sister who’s at University and a brother at intermediate."
We kept talking like that for two more hours when I finally realized the time, 10pm!
"Wow I should be getting home" I said as I stood up.
"Ok I’ll walk you to your car."
I stopped and looked at him funny. My car?
"Huh? My car? Derek I walked I live on this street."
I watched as Derek stopped and turned to look at me, "Since when?"
"Since a couple of months ago."

This grin slowly spread on his face and the way that he looked at me sent delicious shivers throughout my body, but I made myself push them aside and start walking towards my house, "I’ll see you at school" I called over my shoulder. When he didn’t say anything back I kept walking until I felt someone grab my arm and spin me around.
Derek’s lips came crashing down onto mine. My mind was screaming no, but I wouldn’t listen and tunneled my fingers through Derek’s hair to pull him closer, his tongue traced my bottom lip and I opened my mouth to let him in. he groaned, gripped my hips and pulled me even more closer. We kept kissing and kissing until Derek lifted his head "If I don’t stop now I’m never going to" He stroked my cheek and kissed my forehead "See you tomorrow….friend".
