You Did What?

Courtney and Amy are best friends. Listen to Courtney's story about their friendship.
It all stared out on the first day of high school. Amy and I had been friends since kindergarten. I thought we would never lose each other. It's funny how one little thing can change everything.
My best friend, Amy Blue and I, Courtney Snow, were considered the populars, pretty and smart - and Amy with her football player boyfriend, Josh Pickerson. They had been going out for eight months, and she fet like it was love. But apparently, Josh had other plans. A week after their eight month anniversary, Josh texted Amy telling her he wanted to end their relationship. Amy was crestfallen. She was moping oaround and upset for God knows how long. I felt bad, but didn't know what to do. I haven't been really good with relationships.

About a month later, I got a text from Josh asking to hang out. I was happy, because I had been secretly crushing on Josh even before he and Amy had started dating. I felt a twinge of guilt but pushed it aside and replied 'definitely'.
I had had plans with Amy for the weekend of Josh and my date. I sat in my room thinking of what I could say to deceive Amy. So I told her that I was babysitting my little brother. She said she understood, good friend that she was.

While getting ready for about an hour, I felt horrible about lying to Amy, but I couldn't stop the feelings I felt for Josh.
I still remember the feeling of joy after Josh brushed his lips with mine that night. A week later, I accepted the invitation of being Josh Pickerson's new girlfriend.
I felt so bad after I said 'yes'. It had been a week or two, and I couldn't take it anymore. I had to talk to Amy about Josh and me.

I went over Amy's house and sat down with her. I told her how I went on a date with Josh, and he asking me out. She looked at me with a devestated expression and said, her voice full of tears, "You did what?!"
"I'm sorry, please understand," I pleaded.
But Amy didn't. She said she never wanted to talk to me again. We haven't spoken since that day. I miss her terribly.
Girls, take this advice: Don't let boys come between you and your friends.
