You Changed Me 3

Mom was up the next morning since it was Saturday, making breakfast. The delicious aroma of bacon, eggs and pancakes filled my nose as I walked downstairs.

"Hey mom" I greeted.

"Morning Jordin" she replied smiling. My mom was not horribly or anything like that. She is actually pretty cool. We can actually hold a conversation; unlike me and my sister.

"Smells great" I complimented her.

"Thanks" she replied. Mom made breakfast every other Saturday because she wasn’t off of work on all on all Saturdays. But she always had Sunday off of work.

"Mom and I had a peaceful breakfast because; luckily my evil witch of a sister was sleeping over at a friend’s hose. The sun was shining in through the big window in front of the kitchen table.

I got dressed after breakfast because me and Jamie had made plans to go and play basketball down at the public gym. A couple of minutes later Jamie pulled into the driveway and honked; and off we went.

We got there and there were already people there. But that didn’t bother us any because there was always someone here.

We started shooting some hoops. We did this for a couple of minutes. Then someone’s ball rolled over to where we were. I stopped it and bent down to pick it up. I then saw a pair of Nike’s basketball shoes standing right in front of me. I knew they weren’t Jamie’s.

I then heard Jamie’s familiar giggle. I was about to ask her why was she giggling; I thought it was because maybe my underwear were showing or something. That seemed to happen to me a lot.

I was about to ask her when I looked up and said "Uh…here is your b—"I stopped talking and looked at that familiar cute heart melting face. Calvin.

I guess I had this stupid look on my face because he asked "Are you following me around or is all this by coincidence."

"Total coincidence man" I mumbled.

"Oh, ok" he took the ball smiling and laughing and started walking away.

He then turned back around. "Hey you guys want to join me and Damien in a little two on two game".

"Sure" Jamie jumped up answering for me. I think she said that because she saw Damien down on the other end of the court. He was cute and I knew that is why she said yes.

"Okay" he winked at me and smiled and called his friend over.

Now when I start playing basketball I can get a little rough. I mean I loved the sport and I loved to play.

We were playing a close game. First the boys would be ahead and the we would be.

But then when Calvin had the ball in his hand a started to go for a jump shot I jumped up and packed the ball and it slammed into his face. He dropped to the ground in pain.

"AGGH! Dang" he yelled. I just stood there paralyzed.

Jamie gasped and pointed. I looked and saw a dark red liquid start to ooze from his nose. It wasn’t a little blood I mean it looked like a river full of it.

I then remembered that I had a rag in my pocket that I used to wipe the sweat off of me. I pulled it out, crouched on the ground beside Calvin and pushed Damien away from Calvin so I could wipe away the blood.

He winced in pain as I wiped. "Sorry" I mumbled.

"It’s fine" he tried to smile but failed.

"We stood up and he said we could keep playing. I felt horrible. But he was about to start again but the blood wouldn’t stop oozing out of his nose. I felt a sick feeling in my stomach.

The more I saw the blood the worse I felt. I knew I had to leave and that’s what I did. I ran out of there not listening to them call me back saying it was okay. They might feel okay, but I didn’t. It was only blood ad I felt as if I had broken his leg or something.
