You Break My Heart - 6

Thanks Kyle. will do. Hey guys, 227 views and only 1 comment is really discouraging. Plzzzz do comment, it'l only take a minute.
"Hi, Remember me?" Jake asked her.
She just stared at him blankly even though she did remember him.
"No, should I?
He smiled and Becky noted how it totally transformed his face, giving it an almost boyish charm.

"Oh come on, how can you not? I bumped into you at Susie's Sumptuous less than a week ago." He walked closer to her then said: "Anyway, my name is Jake Rivers, a pleasure to meet you again. And you are?" he stretched out his hand.

She quirked her eyebrows as she stared at his outstretched hand. Then without taking it, she lifted her eyes to his face. "Listen mister, I really am not the least bit interested in knowing your name, much less in sharing mine. And I would really appreciate it if you stopped bothering me." Becky knew she was being unnecessarily rude but she did not care. This was the best way to ward off guys like him. She tried to walk away but he sensing this stopped her by moving in front of her. "Hey come on. You're not being fair. You've not even given me the chance to express myself to you." Jake told her.

"Oh I know what you have to say alright. I do not need to hear you say it. You guys are all the same after all. And quit bumping into me." having said that, she moved past him and walked away, and this time he let her pass. He turned to stare at her retreating figure. So she'd remembered him after all. He thought smiling. But damn! She'd walked out on him again. That thought sobered him. He so wasn't used to girls playing hard to get, but this girl intrigued him. Sure she was beautiful but that wasn't it. There were many other beautiful girls he could have by snapping his fingers. It was something more. Somehow he sensed that there was a whole lot more to her beyond that cool exterior. Yeah, what was he now- psychic? He sneered at himself.

He couldn't remember when last he'd been this fascinated with a woman and she wasn't going to get rid of him that easily, whether she knew it or not! But first things first, he needed to get the info on her and walking back to the restaurant he smiled turning on his guaranteed-to-get-you-talking charm. He was going to need it.

*************
Hannah stared at the photograph of her sister that lay on her office table with a twinge of guilt. She'd never kept anything back from Becky before and neither had Becky, she was sure. But then they'd never been in this position before and Becky probably never would. That was if she went by her word and really never got married. Hannah shuddered at the thought, as she wondered at how she'd got herself in the mess she was in. She'd so resolved to end things with Derek but all he'd done was take her to the most classic restaurant, spoil her silly till she'd felt like a pampered princess and once again confess his undying love her, and at the end she'd been unable to. As a matter of fact, she'd heard herself tell him she loved him back. Thinking of restaurants, she unconsciously glanced at her watch then smiled. It was 12 noon. He would be here soon. Since that day a week ago when he'd first walked into her boutique, he'd made a habit of coming to take her out to lunch every day. How she loved those moments, and she admitted guiltily to herself that she wasn't sure she was ready to give up her love for her sister's sake. She would have to talk to Becky soon. Just then, her assistant walked in, the now all too familiar tell tale smile playing on her lips, then she whispered:"The handsome Derek Rivers is here." And that made Hannah's day.

"been out with that Hannah chick again bro?" Jake asked Derek, his older brother.
Derek fell into the chair opposite Jake in Jake's office."Stop calling her that. Show some respect. That 'chick' is your soon to be sister in law."
Jake eyes widened. "You're that serious about her?"
"What did you think? That I was just out to have a good time? Hell no. She's not like that, and neither am I. I'd propose to her today itself, but somehow I think she needs time. Besides there is only one Casanova in this family, and that happens to be you brother mine." Derek said and burst out laughing.

"Thanks bro. Your opinion of me is just flattering. But really, I've decided to change."
Derek stopped laughing and stared at his brother in mock horror.
"OMG, don't tell me. You finally met The One, and she's made you see the error of your ways. And soon you're going to be a family man, maybe even before me. Yeah. Right." Derek said and continued laughing at poor Jake's expense.
"Nothing quite so dramatic, but I have met a girl."
"So? You 'meet' a girl every week."

"No, this one is different. I bumped into her last week at Susie's and she almost had my head because I fell her snacks. Even after apologizing and re-buying the snacks for her, she remained consistently rude. I met her today again and yeah just like the other day she walked out on me. She wouldn't even give me her name."
"Whoa, sounds like you finally met your match, so there is a girl in this planet immune to your charms. Good."
