At its center lies the 2,750-foot glacially carved Yosemite Valley of the Merced River, which feeds spectacular waterfalls along its route, including Yosemite Falls , Ribbon Fall, and Bridalveil Fall. Granite peaks and domes rise around the valley, notably El Capitan, Half Dome, and Mount Lyell, on the eastern boundary of the park.
