Yosemite National Park Falls

The Yosemite national park is located near Mariposa in California, United States of America. The valley of Yosemite national park has been declared a world heritage site in 1984. The valley is dotted with a number of waterfalls, that have lasted in the national park. The waterfalls in Yosemite national park, usually come alive in snow melting periods and spring. These falls are weakened in time period between May and June. By August, the falls often reduce down to a trickle due to lack of water. Yosemite Falls: The Yosemite falls is one of the biggest and tallest waterfalls in United States of America. This fall is approximately 2,425 feet tall and is divided into three parts. The Upper Yosemite fall lies at 1,430 feet, the Mid cascades is 675 feet tall and the lower Yosemite fall is 320 feet tall. The flow of water of Yosemite fall comes alive in November continues till July of following year. The highest volume of water is observed in May. Due to its height, it is visible from many places within the valley.

Bridalveil Fall: Like Yosemite falls, the Bridalveil fall, is high altitude fall in the valley. It is a 620 feet high fall that has the same annual flow pattern like that of Yosemite falls. It is also visible from many places in the valley. Some of the magnificent views of Bridalveil fall are seen from locations like Big oak flat road and Wawona road. A swaying flow is often seen due to the wind conditions.

Vernal Fall: Situated at a height of 317 feet this fall that is remarkably short, has a flow through out the year. The peak season of its water flow is seen in late May. This waterfall evolves into multiple streams that flow through the valley and facilitate the drinking water supply for wild life.

Nevada Fall: The Nevada fall is the sister fall to the Vernal falls. It is situated at a height of 594 feet and flows through out the year with the maximum flow in late May.

Ribbon Fall: Ribbon fall is probably the most beautiful fall in the whole valley. Situated at 1,612 feet, the scenic view of the Ribbon fall depicts a magical beauty from a fairy tale. The Ribbon fall is active from March to June with a peak flow in May.

Horsetail Fall: A 1,000 feet tall waterfall, the Horsetail Fall, is indeed one of the magical fall in United States. It appears to be on fire when it reflects sunlight. The fall attracts many visitors to the Yosemite fall and is visible from many location as it falls off from the east of a cliff known as El Capitan.
