Yorkie Rescue Center and What to Watch For

It is critical that a Yorkie rescue center have access to a vet. A good Yorkie rescue center has qualified staff and maybe even a relationship with local Yorkie breeders. A good Yorkie rescue center will be working with many other local animal rescue groups.
It is always hard to understand people that abuse or abandon any pet but the people that abuse and abandon Yorkshire Terriers are especially frustrating. If you know of a Yorkie that is abused or abandoned then it is up to you to get the dog the help it needs by getting it to a Yorkie rescue center. However you may want to do a little research first because if you use a Yorkie rescue center that does not have the resources necessary to help the little dog then you could be moving the dog to a situation that is not much better than the one it was in.

It is essential for any Yorkie rescue center to have access to qualified vet services in order to do their job properly. If you are talking to a Yorkie rescue center that does not have reliable vet services available to them then they may not be able to really help the little dog and you may want to try another center.

There is no effective Yorkie rescue center without qualified people so be sure that the people working in the Yorkie rescue center you are talking to seem competent and experienced enough to deal with many of the critical situations that can come up during a Yorkie rescue. It is a difficult and thankless job sometimes, but if the people doing the job don't know what they are doing then the dog's situation can go from bad to worse and that is something you do not want happening.

In some cases you may find that the local Yorkie breeders, or at least the more reputable ones, have reached out to the Yorkie rescue center and have offered to help find homes for the rescued dogs. This is not something that is essential, but it is a good thing to know if there is extra help being offered in finding homes for these dogs.

Many times an animal rescue group could not do the job it does without banding together with the other animal rescue groups in the area and pooling resources.

This is what any good Yorkie rescue center will be doing with the other animal rescue groups in your area and if they are not networking with the other animal rescue groups then that may mean they do not have the resources necessary to help the dogs that are brought to them. So be sure that the Yorkie rescue center you are talking to is plugged in to that network.

Never let a pet go abused or abandoned. It is up to the humane people to make sure these pets get the help they need and you should always appreciate the work done by Yorkie rescue centers and support them. It does not take a lot to support a Yorkie rescue center and with the work they try and do they can use all the help they can get.
