Yeast Infection Relief - What’s The Best Way To Treat A Yeast Infection?

Yeast infections can be uncomfortable at their best and downright disruptive to your lifestyle at their worst. The burning, the itching and everything that goes with it can really be a drag. Luckily, this article has some tips on yeast infection relief for those who are suffering from it.
Do you suffer from yeast infections? You are not alone; at least 70% of all women have at least one vaginal yeast infection in their lifetime. It is itchy, it burns, and it has a discharge. Yeast infections are messy to treat, and just make you feel blah which is why so many women are seeking yeast infection relief.

There are so many treatments for yeast infections these days; from over the counter medications to homeopathic remedies. There is even a prescription pill that you can take 1-3 times that will clear up a yeast infection. The over the counter kits are either creams or suppositories that you put into your vagina at night for 3-7 days. They are messy, but they do work, and they soothe the itching and burning.

Homeopathic remedies such as herbs and natural substances also seem to do the trick. There are women who swear by dipping a tampon in plain yogurt with active cultures in it and then inserting it into the vagina one or two times a day until the yeast infection clears up. Some women use tea tree oil and apply it the same way. There is also the garlic method which is to use a whole garlic clove, peeled and wrapped in cheesecloth, and then inserted into the vagina.

All of these can provide yeast infection relief, and there are many more homeopathic options that have not been explored here. Getting rid of the infection is your main concern. You can also do some things to help avoid yeast infections.

Do not use douches. If you feel you must than use a vinegar and water douche. The others will ruin the natural balance between bacteria and yeast that are naturally in the vagina, and cause the yeast to grow, which will then cause a yeast infection. Tight clothing and underwear that hold in moisture are also culprits for causing yeast infections. Yeast love moist and warm environments.

Changes in diet can also help you to avoid yeast infections. Yeast eats sugar, and if you eat a lot of sugar and starches in your diet, you are helping the yeast to grow. Caffeine is also something to be avoided. You should eat green leafy vegetables, fish, chicken, and meat. Avoid bread, potatoes, and noodles. This can be hard to get used to, but if you have chronic yeast infections I bet you are willing to give it a try.

If you continue to have chronic yeast infections, you should contact your doctor to see if there is an underlying health issue that you are unaware of. Often time's diabetics get frequent yeast infections. There are other diseases that can make you more susceptible to yeast infections, and your doctor can find out the cause so If you cannot find yeast infection relief through any of them methods above, a visit to your doctor is advised.
