Yeast Infection Itching

Home remedies to get rid of itchy sensation associated with yeast infection, include use of apple cider vinegar, yogurt and essential oils such as tea tree oil.
Itching! This seems to be the common complaint of people diagnosed with yeast infection (candidiasis). Itching that accompanies a yeast infection is simply intolerable. Though scratching may provide some amount of relief, excessive scratching can aggravate the infection, irritate the skin and increase the itching feeling. In women, the infection commonly occurs in the vagina, on the mouth and in underarms. In men, the infection invades the penis that causes soreness and penis pain.

Homemade Yogurt
In order to get relief from the itching and burning sensation associated with yeast infection, use of plain, unsweetened yogurt is certainly a good option. You can apply it on the affected part of the body as well as take it internally to relieve itching. Applying yogurt containing sugar will worsen the infection and aggravate the symptoms. Once, plain yogurt (without sugar) is applied, let it remain on the affected area only for a few minutes and immediately remove it using a clean cloth. Yogurt is considered to be the best home remedy to manage yeast infection effectively. Although there are various food brands selling plain yogurt, a better option would be to use one that is prepared at home.

Garlic
A fresh clove of garlic can work wonders to provide immediate relief from yeast infection This is because garlic has anti-fungal properties. Before applying, take out the white paper shell that acts as a protective covering and shields it from dust and dirt particles. Women when going to bed at night, can then directly place the garlic clove inside the vagina. Let it remain the whole night and then remove it the next morning and throw it away. One can also prepare a paste out of garlic and apply it wherever necessary. In order to completely eliminate the itchiness, repeated use of garlic is essential.

Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar is another reliable remedy to this type of infection. However, application of pure apple cider vinegar is not recommended. Instead, one can introduce a small cup of apple cider vinegar into the bathing water. Having a bath with lukewarm water that contains apple cider vinegar, is one of the best strategies to reduce yeast infection itching.

Hydrogen Peroxide
Another way to combat itching associated with this fungal infection, is topical application of hydrogen peroxide. Take 1 quart of bottled water and add 3 tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide into it. Apply this solution in the vagina daily, using a jet spray (peroxide douche).

Tea Tree Oil
Use of diluted tea tree oil is also quite beneficial to substantially reduce the itchy feeling. Make sure it is diluted and then apply it to the infected part of the body. Another way to fight itching effectively is topically applying oregano oil. The natural ingredients in this oil destroy the fungus, thus making the skin free from yeast infection.

Although the infection is not a worrisome condition, the fungus can mutate and affect other areas of the body such as the intestine, if appropriate treatment is not taken in time. In such circumstances, the itchy sensation intensifies, and spreads to the whole body. So, diagnosing the infection and treating it as early as possible, is crucial for complete recovery within a short time.
