The Candida or the yeast infection diet has proved beneficial in getting rid of the condition. Here is a list of foods safe to consume and those to avoid when suffering from this condition.

Certain foods are believed to contribute in the Candida growth in the body, whereas, some have no effect on it. On the other hand, there are also certain foods on which the fungus thrives. Such foods are eliminated in the Candida diet plan. This diet plan is easy to remember and follow.
Food Safe to Eat
Grains, sea food, vegetables, nuts, seeds, etc. are the safest foods to consume when you are suffering from yeast infection. These foods do not contribute in the growth of the fungus in the body. At the same time, poultry and meats also have no effect on the Candida and hence, these foods are safe to eat. However, freshly made poultry and meat are to be eaten as processed meat may contain salts, preservatives and vinegar which can be harmful for yeast infection. The following is an extensive list of foods that can be safely included in the Candida diet.
- Probiotic foods, yogurt
- All vegetables
- Legumes and beans
- Unsweetened beverages and dishes
- Eggs, poultry, meat
- Almond milk, unsweetened soy milk
- Any foods that do not contain sugar/ that are not fermented
As mentioned above, having excess sugar in the diet is one of the causes of yeast infection. Therefore, the first thing you need to avoid is sugar and sugar containing foods as the fungus thrives on sugar. It should be noted that fruits contain high amounts of sugar in the form of fructose and hence, consuming fruits is not encouraged.
