Yankees Verse Tigers in First Round

The Detroit Tigers and New York Yankees are tangled up in an exciting playoffs series. For the Tigers it has been over a decade since they have reached the playoffs. For the Yankees it's business as usual.

However it is a breath of fresh air to see the Tigers back in this position. Their youthful roster is just itching for this. Case in point is the fact that they celebrated with champaign when they clinched a playoff spot.

Well can the Tigers overcome the evil empire? It's hard to say for sure. However taking game 2 in New York is not a bad start at all.

For the Yankees they have perhaps the most dangerous batting lineup in baseball ever. From 1-9 their is no slack at all in their lineup. And the anchor of it Derek Jeter is clutch!

While the Tigers don't have the lineup that the Yankees do they have the best pitching in baseball. And for the remaining games the Yankees pitching starts tailing off while the Tigers still have Bonderman, Ledezma and Rogers.

Here's the ultimate question that will be answered here. Is it really pitching or batting which wins championships. The Yankees will really take this test to the max.
