Xbox 360 Games Ideal for Kids
Gaming consoles are just becoming better with time. In the meanwhile, games have changed as well. Some of these video games are prohibited for particular age groups by the law. But, implementation of these laws is indeed, a concern. Not all parents follow the changing trends of gaming industry, and there are some chances that your kids may end up laying their hands on some games, which they shouldn't be playing. In order to make the task slightly easy for you, here is a list of Xbox 360 games for kids. (Though, these are meant for kids, it need not necessarily mean you can't enjoy these games along with your kids.)
Bolt: Bolt is a single player adventure game, which follows the fake TV life of the canine, named Bolt. As the protagonist, Bolt along with Penny has to rescue Penny's father from the clutches of the evil Dr. Calico, by traveling through five different countries. The player of the game has Bolt's superpowers in the beginning of the game, while new powers like laser eyes and superbark can be unlocked in midway through the game. The game was released in North America in November 2008. Upon its release, the game was awarded 7 points on the scale of 10 by Gamespot - a leading video gaming website. There is also an animated movie that goes by the same name.
Kung Fu Panda: Kung Fu Panda focuses on the adventures of protagonist Po. This action-adventure game, based on the film by the same name, was released in North America in June 2008. In the beginning of this game, the player is supposed to train as Po, and master various fighting techniques, as well as, special maneuvers. The player earns some coins at the end of each level, which can be eventually used to upgrade the moves and health of the protagonist Po. As the player advances to further levels, he gets to unlock various other characters, including Master Shifu, and the Furious Five. The game was awarded 8 on a scale of 10 by Game Informer.
Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventure is an adventure video game, which was developed by Lucas Arts in June 2008. The game is loosely based on the first three films of the Indiana Jones series. Even though the game is based on the film, not all of its content resembles the film. Some of the scenes from the game have been altered to make them more user-friendly for kids. This action adventure game has a slight hint of humor. In total, there are 83 playable characters in the game, some of which are available in the story, while others have to be purchased. The game can be played in single player mode, as well multi-player mode.
Open Season: Like Kung Fu Panda, Open Season is a video game based on a film by the same name. The action adventure game, which can be played by a single player, as well as, by multiple players, follows the adventures of Boog - the grizzly bear. Boog is programmed to do hordes of things, including sneaking into the hunter's house, scaring him etc. Quite a few of these skills can be easily updated to the 3rd level. In this game, the player as Boog the bear, is supposed to become friends with the jungle animals by helping them in several tasks. The main task of the player is to collect all the forest animals, and scare the hunters away. Especially designed for kids, the controls of this game are quite easy for them to understand.
Spider Man: Friend or Foe: Spider Man: Friend or Foe is a video game based on Spider man comics and film series, which was released in North America in October 2007. This action-adventure video game can be played in co-op single player as well as multi-player mode. The player follows the adventures of Spider Man in various parts of the world, including Nepal, India, and Egypt. The game does add a hint of humor to the otherwise serious subject, but let's not forget it is one of the few really good Xbox 360 games for kids.
The best thing about these games is that they are fun, entertaining as well as challenging, and at the same time, are educational. However, too much gaming is not recommended for children, and it is essential that they do not get addicted to them.
