Write Internet Articles - Quality Counts
The only way to get people to actually read your articles and to establish yourself as a credible expert in your niche is to write Internet articles that are high quality. Slapping together a bunch of poor to mediocre articles just so you can claim a few links is not a winning formula.
Do you want people to actually read your articles all the way through so they want to click on your link in your resource box?
Are you writing Internet articles to establish yourself as a credible expert in your niche so your readers will take you seriously and respond to your recommendations?
Your answer to both questions should be a very strong yes.
The only way to get people to actually read your articles and to establish yourself as a credible expert in your niche is to write Internet articles that are high quality.
Lazy headlines and boring, badly formatted articles filled with spelling errors and poorly constructed sentences won't get you readers and certainly won't establish you as a credible expert. Would you subscribe to a newspaper that's filled with boring headlines and poorly written stories filled with typos and misspelled words? Of course not.
Why?
Because you wouldn't trust a newspaper like the one I just described. You want a credible news source. One that's a pleasure to read, that provides you with information you need, one that keeps you informed and one you can trust. Do you have a favorite columnist? Why do you like reading their column?
As an author, you must develop your own high quality style when writing Internet articles. Slapping together a bunch of poor to mediocre articles just so you can claim a few links is not a winning formula.
On the Internet it's all about content
So to be noticed, you need to make your content stand out from the crowd, make it unique, special and something the search engines, websites, blogs and ezines really want to include as quality content. I've reviewed a lot of Internet articles and I'm surprised at just how lazy and sloppy some writers present themselves online.
Headlines that couldn't attract flies, boring sentences, mangled words, unreadable formatting and all in search of those precious one-way links. And as for clicks back to their site, they get few and wonder why. But there is absolutely no reason to read their article. (It occurs to me that some editor may be saying the same thing about this article -- I hope not).
Quality counts
You need to recite those two words over and over until you absolutely believe it, and you're ready to live by it when you write Internet articles. Practice, study, practice.Buying a hammer doesn't make you a carpenter. You become a carpenter by studying and practicing. Owning a digital camera doesn't make you a photographer. You have to learn how to use the camera and you have to practice.
Everyone is a writer
Think about it -- we all write lists, letters, email, post cards, home work, reports and content for our websites just to name a few. And like anything else, some people are better writers than others. But even the best writers had to start somewhere.
You might be surprised to learn that this author has written and sold screenplays in Hollywood. But I can assure you that the first script I penned was just plain awful with a capital A. But first try aside, I continued writing and studying until I was able to write screenplays professionally.
Imagine browsing through your favorite book store.
What do you look for? The first thing you look for is a title that interests you. Then you scan a few pages to see if the book itself interests you.
It's much the same on the Internet.
Readers look for a title that interests them, then they scan the article for points of interest.
Quality counts
You must learn to write Internet articles that are high quality works deserving of a readership. You don't have to be a Pulitzer Prize winning author, you don't have to be a great writer, but you do owe it to your readers to be as good as you can be.
If you're writing Internet articles to establish yourself as a credible expert in your niche, you must present yourself in a professional, credible manner.
