Working from Home can Create Distractions
How to work from home and get the work done.
As many telecommuters can tell you, working from home has its perks. What a telecommuter must be aware of are the many distractions that arise during the work day when they are working from home. When you are telecommuting you can enjoy some luxuries such as no commute or some extra sleep in the morning. However, your family and friends may think that you should be available to them whenever they need you. It is important to prepare for these challenges so that you will be able to confront them as needed. So, you have been able to cut out your commute, it is important to try to remain as close to your normal schedule as possible.
Make sure you are getting yourself up and dressed for work. You are apt to be more productive if you are not in your pajamas all day. Experienced telecommuters recommend that you make yourself a to-do list each day. This list will keep you focused and make sure nothing is forgotten.
Additionally, if you follow your to-do list you will find yourself more productive and not straying to non-work related tasks. In the beginning, many telecommuters find themselves enjoying the internet and browsing the web more than they would if they thought the boss was watching.
You must resist this temptation. If you find yourself surfing the web you should set a time limit to get the urge fulfilled and then quickly return to your work. As well, many women find themselves feeling pulled between household chores and work while they are telecommuting. You must try to remember that the dishes will be there when you are done your work day.
If you are thinking about becoming certified in Yellow, Black or Six Sigma Green Belt training, allow their specialists to design a course of study which will help you reach your goals.
