Words Of My Song - Chapter Nine

A bit of another romantic twist...
Will feel back onto Tina's bed. He let out a slow, heavy breath. His skin was glowing from their kiss and his lips throbbed for more. What was that? Why did she run? Had he messed everything up? He hoped not. He grinned to no one and nothing in particular and laughed in sheer happiness. She must like him. She must like him a lot. That was good. 'Cause he liked her a lot, too.

Lasara ran home, happiness welling inside of her and threatening to burst into an array of joyous singing. She twirled as she passed the dancers and the same guy eyed her appreciatively. She laughed and grinned like a loony as the first light droplets of the threatened rain fell onto her face.

She turned her head toward the skies and let the tiny smatterings of water brace her cheeks. She had found her guy. The unbreakable bond, undeniable attraction and unquestionable caring could not be a crush or anything similarly insignificant. She was sure, in the deepest corner of her heart, that she was now totally in love with a guy she hardly knew.

She found her home and ran up the short flight of steps, bursting through the door. She fell into the kitchen.

"Hey dad! I'm so happy! I..." She trailed off as she registered a new face around the dining table. "Um...hi." She raised her hand in a half hearty attempt of a wave. A tall, white guy grinned back. He was dashingly handsome, with high, haunting cheekbones, brown blonde hair and piercing blue eyes.

"Hey. I'm Matt. Leanne's fiancé." Lasara grinned in recognition back and dropped her bag on a seat. But she didn't say anything. She was wary of strangers at the best of times, which was why her connection with Will seemed all the weirder. Now, she was full-blown shy. This guy could end up being her cousin in law or something. "This is the part where you say oh, yeah, Leanne talks about you all the time. You're quite a guy in her eyes. And I see why she loves you. Or something to that extent." His face was totally serious, but Lasara knew he was joking. She laughed and settled in her seat, pushing the bag to the floor. She was immediately at ease.

"Yeah, OK, then. Whatever you said." Matt smiled and Leanne was glad he was such a great guy. "Where is the girl, anyway?" Lasara peered round as if Leanne would jump out of the cupboards at any minute.

"Getting ready. We're going out for dinner." For some reason, Lasara felt disappointed to hear this. She had wanted to get to know her cousin better. They hadn't really talked much in the few days Lasara had been here, both being so busy with their own stuff. In that moment, Leanne walked in looking stunning in a simple, knee-length, black dress. It was well cut - it hugged her shape and curves like it was made for her. She heard Matt swallow. He was staring at his bride to be with an awed, longing look on his face.

"Quite fly for an old boy." Lasara commented sweetly with just a hint of

"Hey guys." Leanne walked over, leaned down and kissed Lasara on the cheek. She smelt good. Then she did the same to her uncle. Matt was almost itching by the time she reached him. "C'mon boy." She laughed, kissing him lightly on the mouth. "Bye people!" There was barley time for anyone else to get a word in.

"Bye!" Lasara called to their backs. Matt turned and threw a grin her way as he was dragged out by his girlfriend. Lasara didn't seem to think he was complaining much. Then she turned to her dad. "Hey dad." She said almost wearily. Anton laughed and gave his daughter a hug.

"Quite a bundle, right? But Matt's an ace guy."

"Quite fly for an old boy." She commented, cheekiness running through it. Anton glanced at her, fake sternness creasing his face.

"Now, now." He said warningly. They laughed together and what followed was a delicious meal and heart to heart which both loved. Just as they were finished cleaning, Lasara turned on her dad.

"Is it OK if I go up now?" She asked. Anton turned to her.

"Sure, sweetie." He smiled and watched as his gorgeous daughter flew up the stairs.

Lasara entered her bedroom and instantly began to laugh again. She closed the door behind her and leaned against it, closing her eyes and savoring the moment of their first kiss. It was magical. She had other kisses but only one other boyfriend in the real world. It turned out he was only using her for one thing. Good thing she had never given it to him. But she had liked him. Never loved him, though. In that second, Lasara decided to go to Andeluzia. She needed to check out what was happening there. She was the future ruler, after all.

She closed her eyes and concentrated. In a second, her true form was revealed. She glanced around with her amazing eyes furtively as if scared before closing them again. She concentrated really hard on her bedchambers in Andeluzia, the wonderful forest green drapes on the four-poster, the sequined throws on her bed, the big, bay window with a balcony just outside. It worked the first time. Her magic was getting stronger.

She materialized there and threw herself on the bed, breathing in the scent of Comfort and home. This was her real home, she knew. Her delicate body was fanned out on the bed and she was staring, transfixed, at her chandelier, when her door was knocked upon. Before she had time to move or even get up, it burst open. Adam stood there.

Adam was her sort of boyfriend. He had a tendency to be overly protective of her and was one of the most sought after bachelors in Andeluzia. With his dark hair and baby blue eyes, Lasara wasn't surprised. She sat up and watched as a slow smile spread across Adam's features.

"Babe." He said, moving toward her. He sat on the bed and leaned over her. Without even waiting for her permission, his soft lips caught hers in a kiss. She enjoyed Adam's kisses. They made her feel warm and loved, but right now she was taken of. They didn't take her breath away like Will's.

"Adam." She broke away and sat up, propping up her weight with her arms. "Um, Adam, I..." Adam placed a gentle finger on her lips.

"Shhh..." He whispered into her ear, his hot breath making her skin tingle. "I've missed you so..." He murmured softly, gently biting her ear.

"Adam..." Adam looked at her with such love in his eyes that Lasara had to blink back tears.

"Yes, darling?" he asked softly. Suddenly, without waiting for an answer, he caught her in such a gentle cuddle that Lasara forgot to breathe. He kissed her softly and gently on her mouth. He tasted sweet, but it felt so wrong. She had Will now. She loved Will. How to tell Adam...? "Mmm...I've missed your kisses." He whispered into her hair. She hadn't kissed him back did she? She was with Will! Or was she? "You're so beautiful, baby. So fine..." he was still whispering, and nuzzling her hair and neck. Lasara bit back tears for fear of hurting him but could not keep back the blush. She wasn't really with Will was she? It was just one kiss....and Adam felt so good. So safe and warm. But she loved Will. "Stunning..." he breathed into that space between her shoulder and neck, where he knew she loved it most. They pulled away and Lasara looked deep into the eyes of the guy who had been her best friend all her life and, more recently, her lover. The guy she could always rely on. The guy who never let her down. And all she saw was love.
