Words of Appreciation
The importance of displaying some gratitude to people who deserve it is well-known. But not many people truly practice what they preach. Some simple words of appreciation can go a long way in appeasing someone who is important to you.

Too many things and people in our lives are taken for granted. As we grow older and put the pieces of our meandering lives together, we sometimes tend to overlook the underlying importance of certain things and certain people in our lives who have contributed in shaping us into the person we are. Spare a moment for some thoughts of appreciation for these people, as failure to do so could result in them eventually turning their back on you. Gratitude is a virtue that does not stem from simply giving out a thank you note, though such things certainly do not hurt. A 'thank you' is something that needs to be genuinely felt on the inside and expressed in the right way. Words of encouragement and appreciation seem like one of those meaningless sentimental things that hold no relevance, but just think of the last time someone appreciated you for something you did and the feelings it generated.
Man is, by nature, a social animal and nothing appeases him more, and nothing attaches him to a person more than some simple appreciation shown by the people around him who are close to him. The power of these simple words is so strong and so profound, that the mere mention of them makes people feel a strong and satisfying sense of contentment. Be it your parents, your friends, your boyfriend, your girlfriend, your spouse, your boss, your employee, words of appreciation for a teacher, or simply someone who is doing his job and helping you; showing some genuine appreciation for that person can really make their day. Some encouraging words for a friend can go a long way in making his or her day too.
Appreciation Over the Internet
Now there are numerous email forwards that do the rounds that talk of how someone appreciates someone and thinks of them and all such things. The Internet has somehow made this process a very simple one, thus, granting one the opportunity to simply pass on a forward or add one as a friend in order to show some gratitude. This has resulted in a lack of any need whatsoever to even drop in a hello, because as long as the forwards keep rolling in, you can assume that all is well. This is an escapist route, and instead of freeing us the, Internet has shackled us more. Instead, try sending out some thank you gifts, or even some try some verbally spoken appreciative words and you will find that they work wonders.
Appreciation for Parents and Friends
No matter what anyone says, it is a fact that they are molded into their present self because of their parents. So it is always a good idea to show some appreciation to ones parents from time to time, and to remind them that they have done a good job raising you. After a while, friends take over in ones life, and they also play a huge role in keeping one entertained and grounded. They should also be thanked and appreciated for their inputs from time to time. Here are some common lines that you can use as inspiration to appreciate the people around you.
- Thank you for providing for me throughout the years and for giving me your unconditional love and support.
- Your support has made me a strong and driven individual and I will forever be grateful and indebted to you for that.
- I will never forget your influence on my life and I will always remember the good times that we had together.

This concept takes on a whole new meaning at a place of employment. Striving for new sources of motivation and inspiration, employees regularly seek appreciation and encouragement in order to know that they are doing their job well. This creates a sense of camaraderie at the workplace and dispels any feelings of dissent. This cycle works both ways, as showing your appreciation to your boss also creates a good atmosphere.
As an employer it is very important for you to appreciate your workers and employees from time to time, as this gives them further motivation to continue their good work.
