- Picket-Picket fencing is the most popular type out of all the types. This kind of fencing works for all kinds of application and also offers a number of options when one tries to change its appearance.
- Lattice-Lattice fencing is a kind of privacy fencing and when security is the main goal, then it is better to opt for privacy fencing, which can provide both style and safety. Irrespective of the fact where and how the fencing is used, homeowners and businesses appreciate the required privacy and protection that a privacy fence ensures.
- Post and Rail-In case of a post or rail fence, wood has to be the only solution for it is the most practicable and economical solution. It save the environment and financially as well it is the ideal choice for surrounding large areas.
There are few pointers, which if you follow will certainly help you to install your wood fence.
- Before you start the installation, get all the tools together and handy. Tools like the Board, Saw, post hole digger, Steel tape, nails, hammer and Tamping rod have to be there without which this work would be difficult and complex.
- When you start fencing set fences about six inches apart though it does depend on the type of fence you are building, the landscape where the fence is being installed and the reason behind installing the fence.
- As a rule the corner or the end post has to be installed first. A line has to be stretched from each corner to the end so that the rest of the post in between can be aligned properly.
- A stake has to be driven in at the position where the post has to be dug in. The posts should be measured properly so that all the posts are of the same size.
- Then the posts have to be set up in the post holes using the regular post hole digger. Posts can be packed with dirt or a stone to give it a strong anchor.
- When the posts are aligned in their positions properly, it should be tamped so that the post gets more strength.
- Then the rails should be attached and try to keep the rail at the bottom at least two to three inches above the ground.
