Wonderland
A girl is confused of her whereabouts and is mysteriously blind. It's funny how we take things for granted. (Sight]
My heart is racing and I'm terrified to open my eyes. Nevertheless I open them and survey my surroundings. My heart stops. I can't see anything. Either that or I just went blind. Do blind people see only black? "Hello?"
Hello.. Hello
Well my voice echoed so that must mean I'm inside some type of room right? There are no windows and apparently, no lights. I'm alone or I would've gotten some type of response. I'm afraid to move but my muscles are tight and I can't stay in this laying position forever right? What if I get up and my head gets chopped of by some booby trap. Or there are needles all around me. Will I chance that risk? I inch my hand to the side and feel no needles or trick switch. I take a deep breath and slide my foot ever slowly to the right. Nothing; Pretty much empty space. I begin to lean forward. How high is the ceiling. I wonder silently. I stand up and reach my hands above my head. Empty air greets me and I turn in a circle. "Heellloo!"
Heeelllloooo.. Heeellllooo.. Heeeellllloooo.
I kick my foot on the ground and it echoed down an invisible hallway. I exhaled a pent-up breath and began to walk bit by bit forward until I hit a wall. It felt moist and it was covered with some sort of vine plant. I reached around the wall and not finding a light switch but coming to the conclusion this wasn't an ordinary room walked towards another random direction. I wonder where this leads.
"Ahhhhhh." I fell into thin air and flailed my arms like a flightless bird trying to make flight. I screamed and I screamed and I screamed and as you might have guessed screamed more. That's when I heard the sounds of running water and it wasn't just a light trickle of a stream. No; It was a large thunderous sounding ocean with crashing waves. Or it could be an enormous waterfall making a large lake that emptied into the sea. The noise level soared until there was a loud ringing in my ear. Then I was hitting ice-cold water sinking and sinking but not fighting for breath for some odd reason. The water was my air and I breathed it in greedily. I couldn't see, yet, and I was wondering if I had actually went blind. Blind is something I wouldn't like. Something in my heart died as I thought of all the things I had viewed from childhood. I felt like Alice in wonderland. But she could see in vivid colors whereas I could only see pitch black. Not even the outline of any object came to me. Of course you can tell by now that I'm still diving deeper and deeper and I'm wondering if this damn ocean has a bottom. I'm breathing in water but it feels like air. So am I still falling or have I really hit the ocean?
I've never relied on just my sense before, so its quiet ominous to see nothing and hear only. The world is cut out around me and I feel so out of tune. Where am I for gods sake? If this is a dream why does it feel so real? When does this end? That's when I saw it; a light at the end of the tunnel. I could see! I could hear! I could feel and I started to swim in the direction of the light. It grew brighter and brighter until I thought I was going to go blind! That's when I woke up and heard people yelling. "Is she awake?! Thank the lord." Her teacher walked around the students and sighed. "You gave us such a scare!" I'm so confused... "Get her away from that damn hole." The teacher cursed odd. She was picked up and set on a bench. "Now please tell us how you fell in that humongous hole." I looked up into her eyes and whispered."I have no idea."
