Women's hairstyles: Hairstyles for Long Hair Locks
Rapunzel did not really have hair stylists to maintain her long locks, but for those needing some tips on hairstyles for long hair locks, can simply read on.
If you think you are the only one who gets stuck with the wrong hairstyle, think again! Just as people have the fear of a dentist’s chair, so is the case with me as far as hair stylists go! Dreading that visit to my stylist (a new one every time!), I had almost reached the conclusion that there is nothing such as the right style or for that matter, even a good stylist!
And to top it all, imagine the ‘horror’ (to some) of having cascading long hair! For the busy woman, always on the go, it has always been the smartest option to sport short hair-dos. So does that mean, the girls with long tresses sit and twiddle their thumbs at home? Maybe Beyonce adds hair extensions for no rhyme or reason! Though I must make it a point to mention that it is often believed women with gorgeous long hair are found to be more appealing to men as compared to women with short locks. (Well, at least to a certain section of men!)
Now comes the difficult task. So you have long hair. And your boyfriend loves it as well. But one of the biggest dilemmas faced by most women is how to dress up their long tresses. It is the matter of finding the right style to suit your face and match your attitude. Also, it requires to be pampered and treated with utmost tender, loving, care.
The first most important step, do make sure you find the right hair stylist. He is the creator, who will be shaping your lovely locks to reveal a new you! Discuss with your stylist the various possibilities. Make an effort and check out the latest trends online.
Here are a few tips on women’s hairstyles for long hair locks (till you meet the right stylist!):
- Simply let your hair down! I really mean this. After a good amount of brushing, you can let your hair flow around your shoulders. Add some zing to it by accessorizing it with a cord or use some colored beads. Make sure you don’t go over the top, as you don’t want to look like a Christmas tree.
- Work on a particular portion of your hair. Depending upon what suits your face cut, you can add some bangs that can kiss your forehead or simply be brushed back.
- Braiding a section might be time consuming to some, but you can create a new look to brighten up a dull, dreary day! Braid a portion from the front of the hairline or at the edge so that it simply hangs over the side. The number of braids rests solely upon your preference and the kind of look you require.
- Dress up your braids with jewels or pins and if that is not your style, then simply dress it down using ties that blend with your hair.
- If you feel you have lengthy hair that cannot be tied up, then you can tie an upper section of your hair into a ponytail and let the rest cascade below your shoulders. Add a rhinestone pin to obtain the elegant touch.
- Use multiple ponytails for those willing to experiment. Brush your hair to give it a beautiful sheen and also to get rid of all the tangles. Smoothen your hair into three even sections to have the basic ponytails. Achieve the multi-pony look by further dividing them into separate mini ponytails. Make sure they are secured well. Get creative with the sub-sections. Braid or knot. The bottom line is to improvise. Hairpins can add that touch of glam in case you want to make a special effort for that super hot date on Saturday night!
- Be it straight, wavy or curly locks, it all depends on how you use your imagination for your crowning glory. But girls! Handle with care. Give it same attention you would probably give, to your expensive designer gowns.
- Use a wide toothed comb
- Avoid brushing when wet
- Use a mild, gentle shampoo
- Maintain a healthy diet
- Avoid over heating during treatments like perming or straightening
- Maintain a regular exercise routine
It doesn’t just end here. There are innumerable hairstyles for luscious long hair locks and it is just the matter of time and experimentation to get a cut that gives your long hair shape, texture and movement. It could be layered, tied, braided or simply let loose. Time to let your hair down girls!
