Woe, the Lonely Shopping Cart

Think About Me a Little Bit.
Push me
Shove me
Batter me around
Crunch the edge of a shelf
Bring all the stock down

Grab me by my handles
Give my frame a kick
Then leave me at the curb
It’s a really dirty trick

Until the next shopper
Grabs me by my cage
And leads me into the store
Where she affronts
My gentle nature
With the implant of a kid
Who rants and raves

As I am pushed
Through the aisles
Full of groceries that
My handler craves

On a good day I am left in
The cart corral
On a bad
I am abandoned
At the bus stop

How many times have
You seen me
Turned upside down
In a field
By an apartment

How many times have
You seen me
Pushed to the outskirts
Of a parking lot

How many times have
You seen me
Left on the sidewalk
Far away from my home

Think about me
Just a little
The next time you
Load me with goods
