As I finish un-packing I heard the sound of keys digging into the door knob. Must be Natasha, my new roommate! I can't get enough of saying that! I'm an only child so having a roommate is like having a sibling.
"Hey! I'm back" Tasha shouts as she walks in and slams the door shut.
"Hey! How was your date?" I ask and wink at her.
"Magical!" She says and we laugh. She takes a seat on the couch and I take a seat on the chair.
"Where did you guys go?" I ask.

"We went to some fancy restaurant one of his friends suggested. Yup McDonalds it the fanciest restaurant ever! Five stars no doubt!" Tasha says and laughs. "I guess it doesn't really matter where we eat though. As long as he's there." she adds.
"Yeah, you know the boyfriend is kind of important when it comes to dating." I say, we laugh and she continues talking about her date. For a while we talked about what we liked and disliked. Just so we could get to know each other. We learned that we are a lot alike. We both had the same high school lives.

We sat talking to each other for about an hour, just talking about the Tawnys in our school. She told me more about Jordan and her. Turns out they knew each other before coming here. They have been dating for 5 years now! After talking for a while she showed me some of the basic stuff her mom showed her. And I did the same.

It was getting pretty late when we decided to go to bed. I needed to take a shower so I asked her where the showers were and she told me the directions. I grabbed my stuff and left. I got about half way down the hall when I stopped in my tracks. I heard a soft kind of moaning sound. I realized that I was breathing really hard so I took a deep breath and tried to settle my breathing. Then I listened to see if I could hear it again.

"Who's there?" I called but nothing happened.
My mind has got to be playing tricks on me. I figure its nothing so I continue walking. Ok so it was down the hall to the left then down a little more than to the right. Right? I kept walking and soon I was lost. The hall was huge! I was starting to freak out, so I sat down against a wall to calm myself and figure out where I was. I was just about to pull out my cell phone and call Tasha when I heard someone say.

"Lost already?" He laughs. I looked up to see non-other than Nathan with a smirk spread across his face.
"I'm not lost! I'm just taking a break." I say. It was the best excuse I had.
"A break from what, wondering around?" He says sarcastically.
" No, I was... I was just... ok I'm lost." I admit hanging my head low.
"You don't say!" He says and sits down next to me.
" Can you stop being sarcastic for just a few seconds?"
"Yes, but I choose not to."
I stick my tongue out at him and he laughs.
"So what were you looking for?" he asks.
"I was looking for the bathroom and I kind of took the wrong hall." I say and look up and down the hall ways.

"Really, I was just headed there." He laughs and gets up. "Come on I'll show you." He put out his had to help me up and I took it. Once again a shock ran up my arm and threw my body. I tried to ignore it the best I could. We walked down one hall then another and another then we were there. He opened the door for me and I walked in. I turned around and noticed he was coming in too. I was shocked, and he must have noticed because he right away began to explain.

"Don't worry, there are different shower stalls. They only have co-ed bathrooms."
I looked around an noticed there were about seven to eight different stalls. Two were in use so I took the third one and Nathan took the forth one. After the shower I got into my PJs automatically regretting the PJs I had brought. They were green silk PJs, shorts and a tank top. Great! I thought to myself. When I walked out I saw Nathan brushing his teeth at a sink. He had only his green sweats on. When he saw me he looked kind of embarrassed.
" Sorry, if I knew I was going to run into you I would have brought a t-shirt. Usually no one is up at this time. Just me."

" Yeah I know what you mean." I said pointing to my pajamas
"Green's my favorite color!" he said pointing to mine and his pajamas. We both laughed and he continued brushing his teeth. I brushed my teeth and then brushed out my hair. Once I finished he walked me back to my dorm. We talked about our school lives and how we found out about our magic.

"You did that!" He bursts out laughing when I tell him about Tawny.
"I didn't know what I was doing! I was just saying stuff..." I mumble.
Finally we arrived at my dorm. I looked for my keys in my bag, needless to say it took FOREVER! Finally I retrieved them from the bottom of my bag.

"Well, thanks for showing me where the bathrooms were. I had no idea where I was going." I say.
"No problem, I got lost my first day too but there were a lot of teachers around so it was easier." he says in a matter of fact-ly way. We both laugh. His first day was about 3 weeks ago so if he could find his way now I'm sure I won't have a problem finding my way around soon. I hope.
"See you tomorrow" I tell him.

"Ok bye." he says and gives me a hug. Then he walked down the hall and I went inside. Tasha was already asleep, so I had to tiptoe to bed. Once I got in my bed I couldn't sleep. I kept thinking about the new school and my first day tomorrow! I also thought about Nathan. I had been awake for about 30 minutes and I finally fell asleep.

I woke up to the smell of coffee. I turned to my side and forced my eyes open. When my eyes came to focus, I saw Tasha making her bed. When she saw I was awake she smiled. She bounced over to my bed and plopped down on it.
"Morning sleepy head! How was your first night?" she said with a perky up beat tone.
"Awesome! What time is it." I ask and rub my eyes as I sit up.

"Oh its only 7:30! I'm an early bird." she smiled.
"Me too." I told her, "I bug everyone in my family when I get up early!"
"Same here! Good thing we're both early birds!" She says getting up to finish making her bed. I got up and made my bed too. Then I pulled back mine and Tasha's curtains while she got us coffee. She said she loved being able to do things for herself in her own place. Away from her parents. I had to admit, it was fun acting like grown ups. We could do anything and were responsible for everything.

"What time does your first class start?" She asked me as we drank our coffee.
"Um..." I grabbed my schedule that I had set out on the coffee table the night before, "9:30."
"Lucky! You got the late classes! I have to go at 8:30!"
"That sucks!"

"I know!" she wined, then she looked at her watch, "Aw, shit! I better start getting ready."
"Ill come with you. Ill get ready and roam around the campus for a while."
"Ok."
We walked to the bathrooms, got ready and walked back to the dorm. After we put all our stuff away, walked out, and locked the door behind us. When we got to the main hall Tasha had to go.
"Well this is where I leave you." She says and hugs me "I want to know all about your first day when you get home ok! You better not leave out any details!" She shouts at me as she's walking backwards to her class.
"Ok, I won't, bye!" I shouted waving at her.

"Bye'' she yelled back waving her hand over her head and walking away. I walked around for a while and finally decided to go to a café Tasha showed me on the tour. I ordered my coffee, swiped my M-card and found a seat. Honestly, I couldn't wait to start. I have watched movies and read books about kids who have magic powers and go to schools like this. It always sounded like so much fun to me. My phone started buzzing in my pocket. I pulled it out and flipped it open. It was a text from Nathan.

"Morning, have a good first day! -Nathan"
I decided to make him laugh so I replied
"Who is this and how do you know its my first day? - Carmen"
"Its Nathan, remember the guy who showed you where the bathrooms are. - Nathan"
"Hmmm Nathan, Nathan? Nope doesn't ring any bells - Carmen"
"... - Nathan"
" I'm just kidding, thanks! Have a good day too. - Carmen"
"Ha, ha your so funny Carmen. - Nathan" I haven't known him for long but Nathan is always sarcastic!

"I know :D - Carmen"
"Well have a good day! Ill text you later. Bye - Nathan"
"Cya - Carmen"
When I put my phone away, I looked up at the clock. 9:15, maybe I should go just in case I get lost.

For my first period my teacher was Mr. Shwalski. He was the weather teacher. He was very nice, the only problem was, his class was really cold. When I asked him he said his class temp. always changed. It depended on what his favorite weather was for the day. Today it was snow. In his class today we started to learn about water.

" So we get to learn how to make it rain." A kid named Aiden asked. His voice kind of sounded familiar.
"In time, first we need to learn how to control the water and you power." Mr. Shwalski replied and put us into groups. He showed us how to move the water before letting us work on our own. He put Aiden and me together, because we were both new to the school. Meaning he was one of the more powerful students too. I recognized him as the kid that came into Dr. Demetrius' office yesterday when I was picking up my stuff. The one who looked like a stuck up popular kid. As Aiden walked to my table he smiled at me.

"Hey I remember you! You're that girl from the office yesterday." he says and takes his seat.
"Yeah and you're that dude from the office yesterday! The one who was all quiet and stuff!" I say and we both laugh.

"I'm sorry for not saying hi or anything, honestly I was freaking out about the whole "Wizard" thing" he says making air quotes.
"It's fine, I understand." I say and we start our project.

What we had to do is move the water from one container to the next without getting any on the table. It was really simple if you concentrated. All you needed to do was think move the water. Then with your hand you had to make a sort of pulling motion over the container, then the water would pull out of the container in a line and all you had to do after that is move it over but if you lost concentration it was back to the sink for more water. We were the first ones to finish and didn't get why the other kids were having such a hard time with there water. I mean, it was so simple for me and Aiden, why were they having so much trouble? Aiden raised his hand and waved for Mr. Shwalski to come over.

"Yes Mr. Aiden." (Every teacher or worker at this school called the students Mr. or Ms. It was considered rude not to and they expected the same from you. No first names were allowed without Mr. or Ms. in front of them. The only time it was excepted was when you were talking to you classmates. Dr. Demetrius was the only one who used last names.)
"Did you give everyone else a harder worksheet then us because we're already finished." Aiden says.
"Actually Mr. Aiden, I gave you two a harder work sheet. As you know, you two are the more powerful wizards in this class. Meaning you can control your magic longer. They will all have to do the worksheet you two did, but not right away." He explained.
"Oh..." was all Aiden replied back. Then Mr. Shwalski left to help some kids with there project. For some reason, I had a strange feeling that Aiden would end up being my partner threw out the class year.

"So I guess were partners for the rest of the year." he said, obviously thinking the same thing I was thinking. "Sorry." He mumbles and I couldn't help but laugh.

"I don't get it, how come we are more powerful then the rest of them?" I asked. He thought about this for a second and then shrugged. We talked for the rest of the class and watched the other kids spilling there water all over the table. At the end of the class they were all soaked! We laughed silently as they tried to dry themselves with paper towels, we knew it was mean to laugh but we couldn't help it.

For my second period my teacher was Mrs. Scarlet. She was the fire teacher. In her lesson today we had to read up on fire. Where it came from, how it was invented, what the different types are. Pretty much boring stuff no action, but she promised we would get into more hands on soon.

For my third I had Mrs. Naomi, she was the earth teacher. In her class we learned how to lift rocks. But not just small rocks, big rock. What you did was concentrate thinking move the rock then you moved your wrist up and the rock would move. Once again Aiden and me were stuck together. We finished right away and sat on the grass throughout the period watching kids try to lift rocks. Aiden was a pretty cool guy I guess. I mean, once you got to know him. I really couldn't see us a best friends like I could see with Natasha and Nathan, but I could see him as someone to talk to. Like a friend.

Finally lunch came, I was glad to take a break from all the magic. I was just about to call Natasha when I bumped into someone. No shock to see it was Nathan.
"Are you stalking me or do you like running into people?" I asked him and laugh.
"You wish I was stalking you" he says in a mocking tone, "actually I was just leaving for lunch." he adds.

"Cool have any suggestions for a new girl? I don't know where to go to eat." I said
"Well there's nothing really that good on campus but there is a Chinese restaurant not too far from here that I was just about to go to. Care to join?" he asked
" You wouldn't mind?" I asked looking guilty
"Of course not, I didn't have anyone to go with anyway. My girlfriend bailed at the last minute." he says and pouts.

" Ok then sure I would love to join." I say and smile.
As we were walking I told him about my classes so far and he told me about his. We both love magic so far. Lets hope it stays that way. The Chinese restaurant was a little small building, it was painted red and had gold Chinese writing all over it. We got a table and sat down to order. The waiter came out with our cokes and took our orders. Our waiter was a Chinese man about 5'9", in his early 30s. He had jet black hair and smiled funny. He could barely speak English but he knew enough to take out order.

"Want to play 20 questions?" Nathan asked me when the waiter left.
"Sure why not." I say
"Ok ill go first, first question . What is your favorite color?"
"Green, didn't I tell you that last night?"
"No I told you that" He said and laughed "Ok what is your favorite music?"
"Alternative rock."
"What is your favorite sport?"
"Volleyball?"

"If you were an animal what animal would you be?"
"What kind of question is that?" I asked. Seriously! What a random question
"An awesome one" he pouted and I laughed.
"Ok um I would be Zorse."
"A what-now?" he asks confused. I laugh again.
"That counts as a question!" I say and take a sip of my coke.
"Ok... fine!" he wines.

"A Zorse! A cross between a zebra and a horse." I say and laugh.
"Why?" he asks giving me a weird look.
"That counts as a question too, and because there awesome!"
"Ok," he laughed and though for another minute. " Why weren't you popular at you old school?" he ask. Ok getting into the more serious questions.
"I don't know because no one liked me. I guess I'm ugly or something." I laughed, "No one liked me after I spilled water on that popular girls dress. You know the one I was telling you about last night." he nodded.

" Your far from ugly, and you went to a party?" he asked looking shocked
"Yes I went to a party." I say and laugh.
"You don't seem like the party type," He laughed, " who did you go with?"
"No one." I said flatly.
"No one asked you?"
"Yep,"
"Why not?" he looked really confused.
"I don't know ask them." I say bluntly.
" I don't think I will. So you have never been asked to a dance?"
"Well I was once, he was my boyfriend, but then I saw him kissing another girl and yeah you know how it goes." I say looking down at my drink.

"That's happened to me before."
I faked a gasp and pre-tended to look shocked, " Does you girlfriend know that your ex-boyfriend cheated on you with another girl?" I started laughing.

"You know what I mean." he said, just then the waiter came out with our food. I was glad to because the food stopped all the questions. What the hell was I thinking agreeing to this game?! This is the most annoying game in the world! Who ever invented 20 questions needs to be slapped! When we finished Nathan patted his stomach.
"That was delicious!" He says. I laugh and pull out my snap wallet from my purse. I tried to pay but Nathan wouldn't let me.

"Ladies should never pay for there food." he says.
"But..." I try to protest but when the waiter comes out he quickly pays him. As we were walking back to the academy he asked me,
"Hey Carmen, do you mind if I call you Carms? I have a cousin named Carmen and that's what I called her." he said.

"Sure as long as I can call you Nate." I laughed, he nods his head in agreement.
"Deal!" he says and we shake hands. When we got back to school we said bye to each other. When we started heading off to our classes we noticed we were going in the same direction.
"Still trying to stalk me Nate?" I say and laugh.
"Ok if I were stalking you, you'd know! Trust me!" he says with a devilish grin. "What class do you have next?" he asks.

"Um.." I checked my schedule, " Death."
" Me too." he says.
"Looks like we will have each other for the rest of the day." I say.
"Oh great! Lucky me!" he says. I punch his arm and he laughs. Obviously not phased by it.
"Just kidding! Goodness anger issues!" he says and de drapes his arm around my shoulder. "This is going to be like sssoooo much fun!" he says and I laugh.
"That's the attitude! Now let's go to our death class!" I say he laughs and we walk to our class.

At wizard academy they put the same students in the same class periods. So I had the same classmates for the morning, and a different set for the afternoon. That's why I had to be partnered with Aiden for my first 3 periods.

The death teacher was Mr. Drakon, his name fits him. In English, the Greek word Drakon actually means Dragon, and Mr. Drakon reminded me of a dragon. He seems mean and gives me the heebie-jeebies!

"Heebie-jeebies?" Nate questioned when I told him. He burst out laughing and we got in trouble. In our death class we had to read about death potions, spells, and enhancements. It was needless to say, very boring! And Mr. Darkson giving me and Nate the death stares the whole class period sure wasn't helping.

For my fifth period I had Ms. Angle. She was the life teacher. She was the sweetest person you could ever meet. Pretty much the exact opposite of Mr. Drakon. In this class we had to read again. It was kind of the same as the death class today. We had to read about life potions, spells, and enhancements.

After that we had study hall. A class dedicated to study and get a jumpstart on homework and/or projects. This class was also considered the battle class. If we wanted to test out what we learned in a battle, they had individual arenas that we could use. I couldn't wait to try one of them out. Who knows maybe I could get Nate to fight with me. Or maybe that's not such a good idea, sense apparently I was "more powerful" then most students. I guess I could ask Aiden. He was in the same power group level as me. Hmm... maybe I will.

When the day finally ended me and Nate walked back to the weather dorms. We were mostly talking about how evil Mr. Darkson was. When we got to my dorm, he claimed he couldn't stay long. I didn't believe him at first but then he told me he had to leave right away because his girlfriend had something to tell him. He seemed excited.

"Hurry up and go Romeo!" I said and laughed.
"Are you sure?" He said, foot halfway out the door.
"Positive, now hurry your Juliet awaits!" I say, he gives me a quick hug and runs out the door.
"I'll text you tonight!" he yells as he's running. "We can study!" he adds already half way down the hall.
"Ok, Good Luck!" I yell.
"Thanks Carms!" he yells back and disappears down the staircase.
