Wizard Academy - Chapters 14 & 15 Final
Battle time!
*I'm so sad! This is the last chapter! :'( I thought I should post it before school starts. So here it is, I will post my comment replies on an authors note and I will tell you about the next story I will be posting on here. Enjoy! :P

The next day at school I was so soar! I could barely walk. Luckily Aiden and I had been doing harder magic spells, so the stuff they were teaching wasn't so hard. For lunch me and Aiden decided to go practice some more. I was still mad at him but we needed to practice. I had to go to my dorm first to get some stuff, so I told him I would meet him there. He didn't like the idea of me going by myself but I told him I would find Nathan and he would go with me. He hesitated for a minute and then nodded and said he was going to grab a quick bite with his girlfriend. Nathan was waiting for me, as usual, outside my class. My heart couldn't help but race every time I saw him. I ran up to him and gave him a kiss.
"Hi!" I smiled.
"Hi, how was class?" He asked and gave me a hug. One of his arms wrapped around the part of my waist where the monster Aiden and I had battle, had hit me. I forgot to heal it at the time. I squinted at the pain,
"Ouch..." I whispered, hoping he didn't hear. He quickly let go and turned towards me.
"What? Are you ok?" He looked at me worried.
"Yeah I'm fine." I said thinking for a reason why my side was hurting.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"Nothing I just fell off my bed last night and got a bruise." That was a close one! He looked at me suspiciously but let it slide. I hate lying to him.
"Are you ok? I'm sorry. Stupid bed and floor!" he said kissing my forehead. I laughed and grabbed his hand and started walking again.
"I have to study with Aiden for lunch but I thought you might want to walk me to my dorm so I could get some stuff and then we could go grab a quick bite." I said.
"Your studying with him again?" he said kind of annoyed. What does he mean again? We've only been in school about 7 months. I've only "studied" with Aiden a few times for lunch.
"What do you mean again? Nate, I've only studied with him a few times." I said in the same annoyed tone as him.
"It just seems like your spending more time with him then me." He said.
"I spend every day with you!"
"Not everyday! Sometimes you spend time with Aiden!" He said and stopped walking.
"And what's wrong with that? It's not like I'm in love with him. I have you remember!" I was mad now, what was he thinking? He's being an idiot, a jealous idiot!
"Yeah well sometimes I'm not so sure! You spend every Friday with him! You spend your lunches with him and sometimes you meet up with him after school!" he yelled, I ripped my hand out of his.
"Nate we have been going out for 5 weeks and you think I'm already going after someone else?" I questioned.
"Hmm... well YEAH!" He shouted, "Not to mention that you spent all night with him last night!" he added.
"For your information, we didn't spend all night together last night! I left early because we got in a fight about you!" I yelled.
"Oh yeah, well then what about the night before that? Explain that!" He shouted. What?! How the hell did he know that?! Anyway who cares if we hung out, we weren't doing anything! Well be sided getting beat up.
"Oh, so what, now I'm your property?! I can't hang out with my friends because I'm dating you?! How did you even know about that?" I questioned.
"Well, I texted you that night and when you didn't answer I asked my roommate Jordan to see if you were there when he went to go see Natasha. Turns out you went out with Aiden, without telling me!" He yelled.
"You asked where I was? Why can you trust me?! I'm not some kind of whore!" I shouted.
"Could have fooled me!" he said, my jaw dropped! In that instant I felt like I got slapped in the face. I felt the tears burning in my eyes but I didn't want him to see that I was weak. I wanted him to feel what I felt, I wanted to hurt him. I pulled myself together and slapped him with all my strength! He looked back at me, the look in his face looked ruined. Not like an "I'm sorry babe!" face, it looked more like an, "Oh shit, I ruined everything!" face. That meant either one of two things. He ruined things with me, or he ruined something else.
"Carmen I..." he began but couldn't finish. He didn't know what to say. He tried to look at me in the eyes and I didn't want to look into his so I looked over his shoulder instead.
Automatically I saw Aiden and Amber standing there hand and hand. He looked awe-struck. Did he hear everything? Oh no! I looked around us, everyone was watching! I couldn't continue this, not here, not now! I turned my gaze toward Nathans and he didn't look as hurt as I imagine me too look. That made everything even worse.
"I can't do this..." tears were already streaming down my face. So I lifted my hand and snapped my fingers and Poited into my dorm. I fell onto my bed and started crying. It was about 5 minutes when I herd a knock on the door.
"Carmen! It's Nathan! Let me in!" Nathan shouted! I stayed quiet, maybe if he doesn't here me he will leave. "Carmen! I know you're in there! I'm not stupid!" he yelled.
"Ha! Could have fooled me!" I quoted his words!
"Let me in now dam it! I will not be made a fool of!" He shouted. I became instantly scared. What if he gets in, what will he do to me... I quickly grabbed my bag and threw some clothes in it. I looked around for anything else I might need.
"CARMEN! THIS IS NOT FUNNY!" He shouted louder and started tugging at the door handle. Knowing his strength, it would take him seconds to pull the door open. I lifted my hand and snapped my fingers right as the door cracked open.

Within no time I was standing in the Magic Room. I was only in there for about 2 minutes when Aiden appeared. He looked at me, ran toward me and hugged me.
"Are you ok?" He asked and I started crying.
"Hey, hey don't cry! It's ok." He said and pulled back to look at me. He looked me straight in the eyes. "It's going to be ok, everything's going to be ok." he said and pulled me into another tight hug. He smoothed my hair with his and kissed the top of my head.
"You don't know that..." I sobbed into his shoulder.
"Yes I do. Everything will be ok." he said. I pulled away again, drying my eyes with my fingers, and looked at him.
"How much did you hear?" I asked.
"Everything after you told him you spend everyday with him." he said slowly, looking guilty.
"Oh great!" I groaned. Now he's going to think I'm a whore! Stupid Nathan! Stupid Drama! STUPID SCHOOL! Why does everything have to be so complicated.
"What?" He asked.
"I promise you I'm not a whore!" I said dropping my head into my hands, "I would never cheat on anyone... I don't even know where he got that idea..." I cried.
"Yeah, I know that..." he smiled, putting one finger under my chin and lifting my head up. "Actually when he said that got really angry and was about throw a fire ball at him." he said, and I laughed. "Ah there's that laugh of yours!" he laughed too, wiping a tear away from my cheek, leaving a trail that burned my cheek where he touched. I got kind of nervous and decided to change the subject.
"So, uh, how did you find me? I didn't exactly think you would be the one to come looking for me." I said sitting down at the table.
"Well after that I was going to go up to him a punch him, but my girlfriend..."
"Amber." I interrupted.
"Yes Amber. Wait, how do you know Amber?" he asked sitting down and looking confused.
"She was Nate's EX." I told him and he just nodded.
"Anyway Amber pulled me back and said he wasn't worth it. I told her she was probably right and that I needed to find you to make sure you were ok. She didn't seem to happy about it when I left, but she will cool down." he said and smiled.
"Oh... thanks." I said feeling a little bit awkward. I don't think I'm making a good impression on this girl...
"No problem, what are teammates for?" Just as he said that we heard a huge BANG come from above, tiny bits of the ceiling came falling down. Aiden pulled me out of my chair and put me behind him. Dr. D suddenly appeared in front of us.
"What's going on!" I asked him, peaking out from behind Aiden's shoulder.
"It's time!" He said.

"What! Right now! It's time right now!" Aiden yelled.
"Yes right now! You two need to get to the main gates right now!" Dr. Demetrius said. Then he snapped his fingers and disappeared.
"Wait! Were not ready!" I yelled but he was already gone.
"Yes we are Carmen! We can do this!"Aiden said turning around towards me and putting his hands on my shoulders.
"No we can't! I can't! I'm not ready for this!" I yelled back, shaking my head.
"Yes you are! You can do this! I'll be right there beside you fighting." he shouted. I looked at him in the eyes, not knowing what to think.
"Promise?" I asked, he looked right back into my eyes.
"I promise!" He said with a smile. I nodded and quickly gave him a hug, just in case I never saw him again. "You ready?" he asks.
I nodded again and took a deep breath. He grabbed my hand and we lifted our other hands and snapped our fingers.

We appeared outside the main gates of the school. Dr. Demetrius and some of the other teachers were trying to clear out the students so they wouldn't get hurt. Wind was blowing hard and stuff was flying every where. Dr. D shouted at us to help move the kids back.
"You need to get back!" I yelled at some of the kids and tried to get them to move back.
"Says who!" one of the kids shouted at me over the loudness of the wind.
"Says me!" Aiden said and walked up behind me. The kid quickly backed away and so did the others. I laughed and said thanks. Dr. D shouted at us to get into position as he still pushed back some kids, we quickly ran to the front of the gates. My heart was racing faster than the speed of light. I was aware that I was hyperventilating and I'm guessing Aiden was very much aware of it too, because at that moment he grabbed my hand. I looked at him and calmed down a bit. He looked at me and gave me a reassuring nod.
"Promise..." he quoted from our earlier conversation. It didn't take long before everything went bad.
The gates began to shudder and before I knew it, they were blown off there hinges and flying towards the students. I remembers one of the spells Dr. D taught us and quickly shot magic at one of the gates, destroying it before it hit the other students. Aiden did the same thing for the other gate and barley got to it. The students were looking at us with shocked expressions written across their faces but we couldn't concentrate on them, we had to concentrate on what was coming. We saw a huge black puff of smoke by the gates and slowly two people emerged. I couldn't help but wonder why they had to blow up the gates if all they had to do was Poit here. It was pointless really... As the smoke cleared, the two figures came into vision. What I saw, I couldn't believe, the two figures were Nathan and Amber! Oh no! The first thought that popped into my head was that they must have been caught by The Lord of The Dark! He must know that me and Aiden we're dating them! I couldn't let them get hurt!
"Amber! Nathan! Run!" I shouted at them! The wind was bowing furiously but hopefully they heard me.
"Hurry before you get hurt by The Lord of The Dark." Aiden yelled. I expected them to start running but instead they just stood there. He must have had them under mind control. They looked at each other and started laughing. Aiden and I looked confused.
"Silly wizards!" Amber shouted, "We are the Lords of the Dark!" Lords? There's two of them? They must have been the ones who attacked us the other night. Which explains why the girls voice sounded so familiar, and how Nathan really knew I was hanging out with Aiden. But how? Why?! Amber? Nathan...?
"No!" I shouted, "Nathan would never do something like that to me." I said and looked at him. He must be a clone of Nathan, or something like that. It can't be true!
"Don't be so sure!" He laughed as I fought back all my tears. "You were so gullible, such an easy target. Who would have thought, the most powerful students going out with the most dangerous students!" he laughed. I felt my heart shatter into a million pieces. How could he do this to me? Aiden squeezed my hand softly. Aiden... He was right.
"But... but you..." I looked at Amber, "You broke up with her... you told me..." I stuttered, not knowing what to say.
"It wasn't that hard Carmen!" He shouted, " I... I... I broke up with Amber. See piece of cake! I really don't know why people make such a big deal out of acting. It's not hard to do at all!" He laughed. But he said he really liked me... and the arm shock...
"But you said you liked me, you said you felt what I felt..." I managed to get out without messing up or stuttering.
"Oh you mean that stupid arm shock thing. Ha! It was so easy to mess with your emotions. Simple spell actually, I would show it to you someday but I don't thing you can teach the dead." he answered coldly. How could he do this to me?! I felt the tears threaten to spill over of my eyes. I can't believe this. He was playing with my emotions! Right in front of my face! How could I be so stupid!
"Amber! How could you do this to me?" Aiden shouted. "How could both of you do this to us?!"
"What, you actually thought I liked you?" She asks, "Get real! I'm way to good for you." She says and starts laughing with Nathan. Nathan looks at me, and I feel like bursting into tears and running off. The only thing keeping me there was Aiden, anchoring me to my place with his hand.
"Aw are you going to cry now Carmen?" Nathan mocks. Aiden squeezed my hand again,
"Don't let him get to you, he's not worth the tears." He whispers. That moment I realized that he was right! I shouldn't be standing here crying and giving him the satisfaction of breaking me down and hurting me. He's not worth my time, nor my tears! Suddenly the temptation to cry and run was replaced buy a new temptation. The temptation to kick Nathans ass and hurt him. And not like I did earlier today with a measly little slap. No, I was going to do a lot worse than that. I was going to make him regret everything he did to me.
"You know what, that was kind of a bad move on your guy's part!" I shouted at Nathan and Amber.
"Oh yeah and whys is that?" Amber asked with a chilling smile.
"Because it only added more fire to the flame!" I said back. I gathered my magic and shot a firer ball straight at Amber, and Aiden did the same to Nathan. Amber squealed as the fire ball headed towards her and with that, the fight was on. Aiden bolted towards Amber and started fighting her. I walked towards Nathan. I didn't want to waste my time and energy on running. When I got to him I put up both of my fists.
"Look Carms, this isn't my choice. My grandfather wanted this. I want to end this right now. So why don't me and you just tell everyone the battles over." he said this in a sweet tone. He put his hands on the fist in front of my face, my left fist, and gently pushed it down. I looked at him with a forgiving face.
"There that's better..." he began and that's when I punched him with my right fist. My fist connected with his jaw and sent him flying into the front gate. I started throwing shards of ice at him. They started small and got bigger. Amber must have noticed because she pushed a gust of wind at Aiden, sending him against a building. Then she came after me. She was pushing wind at me left and right. I started shooting ice blades at her and they were slicing threw her skin and leaving bad cuts. She grabbed a bolder that was near the now destroyed gate and threw it at me. The bolder hit me and sent me flying towards the ground. I laid there feeling like I wouldn't have the strength to get out, I thought it was all over when I herd Nathan laugh.
"She won't be able to survive that! Nice shot babe!" he said to Amber. No way was he going to get this satisfaction either. I pushed all my pain aside and pulled all my strength together. I shoved the rock up off me and pushed it towards Nathan and Amber who were kissing. I felt a twinge of pain but ignored it when I saw Aiden who had be shoved into a building again.
"Aiden! Aiden you need to get up! We don't have much time!" I saw them getting out form under the rock so I shot fire around them, encircling them in flames. That should keep them for a few seconds. I turned back to Aiden.
"Aiden please! I need you! I can't do this by myself!" he still wasn't saying anything. I started crying and I put my head in my hands. I knew it was all over. Soon they would put out the fire and finish us off.
"I'm not going anywhere." I herd a croak come from where my fallen teammate had been thrown.
"Aiden!" I opened my eyes to see Aiden looking at me and getting up. "Aiden! I knew you wouldn't leave me!" I yelled and hugged him.
"I would never do that!" He says, "You're my teammate... I promised remember?" He says and hugs me back. "Now lets finish them off!" He grins and grabs my hand. We bolted towards the two trying to put out the flames and quickly used the freezing spell like we did in the battle last night. Freezing them in there tracks. When we finished, I grabbed Aiden's other hand and we stared the spell.
"Calling darkness and light" I began and the wind started blowing harder than before around us.
"These villains must go!" Aiden shouted over the winds, adding his own words to the spell. We were now vanishing two people.
"With all of you might!" I said and our hands started to glow.
"Help vanquish our foes!" Aiden said completing the spell. We lifted our hands in the air and a bright light shot up into the sky. Then we pointed both our hands at Nathan and Amber and the light from the sky shot down at them lifting them into the sky, they rose up about 10ft into the air and burst open disappearing into thin air. We fell to the ground and Aiden wrapped his arms around me. We were both out of breath and breathing heavily. All the kids standing around came rushing towards us cheering. We stood up and watched all the kids around us, congratulating us and hugging us. I think that's when we both realized that we won.
"We did it..." Aiden mumbled and turned to look at me. He grabbed my shoulders and looked at me. His eyes full of excitement. "We did it!" He shouted with excitement.
"We did it!" I repeated looking at him, with the feeling of relief washing over me. He pulled me into a big hug, lifted me into the air and spun around. We were laughing and hugging everyone. We saw Dr. D slowly push his way threw the crowd. When he got up to us he hugged me and shook Aiden's hand.
"Congratulations..." he said in a formal tone. "Nice touch to the spell Aiden." He added. Aiden smiled and nodded.
"We won Dr. Demetrius! We beat them!" I said.
"For now..." Dr. Demetrius said in a low voice. "They will be back, there is no doubt about that but when they come back we will be ready and stronger. Congratulations though!" he said and shook our hands again. "Now please go get some rest." Dr. Demetrius said. After that all I could remember was walking to my dorm with Aiden and somehow falling asleep while we were walking. I think on Aiden's shoulder.

When I woke up, I was in my dorm room. Was it all just a dream? I sat up in my bed and felt the pain twigging threw my body right away. Nope, that was no dream. I looked around the room and see Natasha, Jordan, and Aiden all sitting on the couch. They were all talking when Tasha turned towards my bed.
"She's awake!" She ran towards me but slowed down, probably remembering what happened. She sat down on the bed and smiled.
"How you feeling hun?" She asked.
"I feel like I just got hit by a truck." I said putting my hand on my head.
"Try bolder." She said and we both laughed. Jordan came up and said he was glad to see I was awake. I didn't know him that well but he was still a good guy. Aiden got up and walked toward the bed. Tasha immediately got off my bed and smiled.
"Well I'm glad your feeling better. I bet your starving. Jordan and I will go down and get you something to eat." She grabbed Jordan's and dragged him out of the room. Aiden and I laughed and he sat down on the corner of my bed.
"So how you feeling?" He asked. I sighed and felt my side.
"Ok I guess, how about you?" I asked him.
"I'm feeling a lot better than you are, I'm sure. I couldn't remember everything when I first woke up this morning but everything came flooding back when I came to see you..." He said. "Do you remember anything?" He asked.
"I remember everything unfortunately..." I sighed, "but all that's behind us!" I said and he laughed.
"Yes, I agree! And next time I decide to date someone, I will make sure they are legit." He said and I laughed. "And if your next boyfriend turns out to be a jerk, just let me know and I will straighten him out for you." he added and kissed his muscles. I laughed again,
"I don't think I will need you too, but thanks anyway." I said.
"Yeah, you'll probably kick his ass before he gets the chance to be a jerk." Aiden said and we both laughed. Aiden was right the whole time, it was Nathan all along...
"Aiden... about the fight we had last night..." I began. Aiden shook his head and held up his hand.
"Don't worry about it..." He interrupted.
"No, I was a jerk. I should have believed you, but I took Nathans side instead. I'm so sorry!" I said.
"It's ok Carmen, you were just being a good girlfriend." I smiled and hugged him.
"And you were just being a good friend." I said.
"Yeah, I know." Aiden complimented himself. I laughed and pushed his shoulder.
"Conceited" I said. Aiden laughed and stuck out his tongue at me. It grew silent and I couldn't help but be happy that Aiden was ok... I don't know what I would have done if he got hurt... or left me...
"Thanks for not leaving me by myself out there..." I said and he looked at me confused. "You know... when I was crying, and telling you I couldn't do it on my own..."
"Oh, that! You don't have to thank me for that, I didn't do anything." he said.
"But still, its nice to know that you won't leave me out there next time we battle." I told him and smiled.
"I told you I would never leave you. I didn't leave you then, and I won't leave you now..." he said and grabbed my hand. "and you can count on that." he smiled.
"Thanks Aiden." I whispered and gave him a hug.
"You're welcome..." he said and hugged me back, "Oh and thank you for not leaving me there to die." he laughed.
"I would never leave you there to die!" I said as I pulled out of the hug and looked at him, "and you can count on that." I quoted him and smiled, he laughed.
"I'm glad I can." His face was only a few inches away from mine. He was staring into my eyes and I found I couldn't look away. Most importantly... I didn't want to look away. Suddenly his gaze turned to my lips and my stomach flipped.
"Carmen I..." He began but never finished, we both leaned in and kissed each other. He pulled me closer to him by putting his hands on my waist. I held his face in my hands and kissed him back. It was a soft kiss, full of passion, and didn't feel like Nathans. He pulled away and I smiled at him. We continued to look into each others eyes when Tasha came in. He looked away but slid his hand under mined while we ate our soup as Tasha talked about how awesome the fight was. We were laughing at how extreme she made it out to be. I liked Aiden, I didn't have strong feelings for him but I did have feelings for him. Maybe, in time, they would grow but for now, I'm just glad to have him as my teammate/partner/friend. As for Nathan and Amber, well they are out there somewhere, getting even stronger. And when they return, we will be ready...

"Let me in now dam it! I will not be made a fool of!" He shouted. I became instantly scared. What if he gets in, what will he do to me... I quickly grabbed my bag and threw some clothes in it. I looked around for anything else I might need.
"CARMEN! THIS IS NOT FUNNY!" He shouted louder and started tugging at the door handle. Knowing his strength, it would take him seconds to pull the door open. I lifted my hand and snapped my fingers right as the door cracked open.

Within no time I was standing in the Magic Room. I was only in there for about 2 minutes when Aiden appeared. He looked at me, ran toward me and hugged me.
"Are you ok?" He asked and I started crying.
"Hey, hey don't cry! It's ok." He said and pulled back to look at me. He looked me straight in the eyes. "It's going to be ok, everything's going to be ok." he said and pulled me into another tight hug. He smoothed my hair with his and kissed the top of my head.
"You don't know that..." I sobbed into his shoulder.
"Yes I do. Everything will be ok." he said. I pulled away again, drying my eyes with my fingers, and looked at him.
"How much did you hear?" I asked.
"Everything after you told him you spend everyday with him." he said slowly, looking guilty.
"Oh great!" I groaned. Now he's going to think I'm a whore! Stupid Nathan! Stupid Drama! STUPID SCHOOL! Why does everything have to be so complicated.
"What?" He asked.
"I promise you I'm not a whore!" I said dropping my head into my hands, "I would never cheat on anyone... I don't even know where he got that idea..." I cried.
"Yeah, I know that..." he smiled, putting one finger under my chin and lifting my head up. "Actually when he said that got really angry and was about throw a fire ball at him." he said, and I laughed. "Ah there's that laugh of yours!" he laughed too, wiping a tear away from my cheek, leaving a trail that burned my cheek where he touched. I got kind of nervous and decided to change the subject.
"So, uh, how did you find me? I didn't exactly think you would be the one to come looking for me." I said sitting down at the table.
"Well after that I was going to go up to him a punch him, but my girlfriend..."
"Amber." I interrupted.
"Yes Amber. Wait, how do you know Amber?" he asked sitting down and looking confused.
"She was Nate's EX." I told him and he just nodded.
"Anyway Amber pulled me back and said he wasn't worth it. I told her she was probably right and that I needed to find you to make sure you were ok. She didn't seem to happy about it when I left, but she will cool down." he said and smiled.
"Oh... thanks." I said feeling a little bit awkward. I don't think I'm making a good impression on this girl...
"No problem, what are teammates for?" Just as he said that we heard a huge BANG come from above, tiny bits of the ceiling came falling down. Aiden pulled me out of my chair and put me behind him. Dr. D suddenly appeared in front of us.
"What's going on!" I asked him, peaking out from behind Aiden's shoulder.
"It's time!" He said.

"What! Right now! It's time right now!" Aiden yelled.
"Yes right now! You two need to get to the main gates right now!" Dr. Demetrius said. Then he snapped his fingers and disappeared.
"Wait! Were not ready!" I yelled but he was already gone.
"Yes we are Carmen! We can do this!"Aiden said turning around towards me and putting his hands on my shoulders.
"No we can't! I can't! I'm not ready for this!" I yelled back, shaking my head.
"Yes you are! You can do this! I'll be right there beside you fighting." he shouted. I looked at him in the eyes, not knowing what to think.
"Promise?" I asked, he looked right back into my eyes.
"I promise!" He said with a smile. I nodded and quickly gave him a hug, just in case I never saw him again. "You ready?" he asks.
I nodded again and took a deep breath. He grabbed my hand and we lifted our other hands and snapped our fingers.

We appeared outside the main gates of the school. Dr. Demetrius and some of the other teachers were trying to clear out the students so they wouldn't get hurt. Wind was blowing hard and stuff was flying every where. Dr. D shouted at us to help move the kids back.
"You need to get back!" I yelled at some of the kids and tried to get them to move back.
"Says who!" one of the kids shouted at me over the loudness of the wind.
"Says me!" Aiden said and walked up behind me. The kid quickly backed away and so did the others. I laughed and said thanks. Dr. D shouted at us to get into position as he still pushed back some kids, we quickly ran to the front of the gates. My heart was racing faster than the speed of light. I was aware that I was hyperventilating and I'm guessing Aiden was very much aware of it too, because at that moment he grabbed my hand. I looked at him and calmed down a bit. He looked at me and gave me a reassuring nod.
"Promise..." he quoted from our earlier conversation. It didn't take long before everything went bad.
The gates began to shudder and before I knew it, they were blown off there hinges and flying towards the students. I remembers one of the spells Dr. D taught us and quickly shot magic at one of the gates, destroying it before it hit the other students. Aiden did the same thing for the other gate and barley got to it. The students were looking at us with shocked expressions written across their faces but we couldn't concentrate on them, we had to concentrate on what was coming. We saw a huge black puff of smoke by the gates and slowly two people emerged. I couldn't help but wonder why they had to blow up the gates if all they had to do was Poit here. It was pointless really... As the smoke cleared, the two figures came into vision. What I saw, I couldn't believe, the two figures were Nathan and Amber! Oh no! The first thought that popped into my head was that they must have been caught by The Lord of The Dark! He must know that me and Aiden we're dating them! I couldn't let them get hurt!
"Amber! Nathan! Run!" I shouted at them! The wind was bowing furiously but hopefully they heard me.
"Hurry before you get hurt by The Lord of The Dark." Aiden yelled. I expected them to start running but instead they just stood there. He must have had them under mind control. They looked at each other and started laughing. Aiden and I looked confused.
"Silly wizards!" Amber shouted, "We are the Lords of the Dark!" Lords? There's two of them? They must have been the ones who attacked us the other night. Which explains why the girls voice sounded so familiar, and how Nathan really knew I was hanging out with Aiden. But how? Why?! Amber? Nathan...?
"No!" I shouted, "Nathan would never do something like that to me." I said and looked at him. He must be a clone of Nathan, or something like that. It can't be true!
"Don't be so sure!" He laughed as I fought back all my tears. "You were so gullible, such an easy target. Who would have thought, the most powerful students going out with the most dangerous students!" he laughed. I felt my heart shatter into a million pieces. How could he do this to me? Aiden squeezed my hand softly. Aiden... He was right.
"But... but you..." I looked at Amber, "You broke up with her... you told me..." I stuttered, not knowing what to say.
"It wasn't that hard Carmen!" He shouted, " I... I... I broke up with Amber. See piece of cake! I really don't know why people make such a big deal out of acting. It's not hard to do at all!" He laughed. But he said he really liked me... and the arm shock...
"But you said you liked me, you said you felt what I felt..." I managed to get out without messing up or stuttering.
"Oh you mean that stupid arm shock thing. Ha! It was so easy to mess with your emotions. Simple spell actually, I would show it to you someday but I don't thing you can teach the dead." he answered coldly. How could he do this to me?! I felt the tears threaten to spill over of my eyes. I can't believe this. He was playing with my emotions! Right in front of my face! How could I be so stupid!
"Amber! How could you do this to me?" Aiden shouted. "How could both of you do this to us?!"
"What, you actually thought I liked you?" She asks, "Get real! I'm way to good for you." She says and starts laughing with Nathan. Nathan looks at me, and I feel like bursting into tears and running off. The only thing keeping me there was Aiden, anchoring me to my place with his hand.
"Aw are you going to cry now Carmen?" Nathan mocks. Aiden squeezed my hand again,
"Don't let him get to you, he's not worth the tears." He whispers. That moment I realized that he was right! I shouldn't be standing here crying and giving him the satisfaction of breaking me down and hurting me. He's not worth my time, nor my tears! Suddenly the temptation to cry and run was replaced buy a new temptation. The temptation to kick Nathans ass and hurt him. And not like I did earlier today with a measly little slap. No, I was going to do a lot worse than that. I was going to make him regret everything he did to me.
"You know what, that was kind of a bad move on your guy's part!" I shouted at Nathan and Amber.
"Oh yeah and whys is that?" Amber asked with a chilling smile.
"Because it only added more fire to the flame!" I said back. I gathered my magic and shot a firer ball straight at Amber, and Aiden did the same to Nathan. Amber squealed as the fire ball headed towards her and with that, the fight was on. Aiden bolted towards Amber and started fighting her. I walked towards Nathan. I didn't want to waste my time and energy on running. When I got to him I put up both of my fists.
"Look Carms, this isn't my choice. My grandfather wanted this. I want to end this right now. So why don't me and you just tell everyone the battles over." he said this in a sweet tone. He put his hands on the fist in front of my face, my left fist, and gently pushed it down. I looked at him with a forgiving face.
"There that's better..." he began and that's when I punched him with my right fist. My fist connected with his jaw and sent him flying into the front gate. I started throwing shards of ice at him. They started small and got bigger. Amber must have noticed because she pushed a gust of wind at Aiden, sending him against a building. Then she came after me. She was pushing wind at me left and right. I started shooting ice blades at her and they were slicing threw her skin and leaving bad cuts. She grabbed a bolder that was near the now destroyed gate and threw it at me. The bolder hit me and sent me flying towards the ground. I laid there feeling like I wouldn't have the strength to get out, I thought it was all over when I herd Nathan laugh.
"She won't be able to survive that! Nice shot babe!" he said to Amber. No way was he going to get this satisfaction either. I pushed all my pain aside and pulled all my strength together. I shoved the rock up off me and pushed it towards Nathan and Amber who were kissing. I felt a twinge of pain but ignored it when I saw Aiden who had be shoved into a building again.
"Aiden! Aiden you need to get up! We don't have much time!" I saw them getting out form under the rock so I shot fire around them, encircling them in flames. That should keep them for a few seconds. I turned back to Aiden.
"Aiden please! I need you! I can't do this by myself!" he still wasn't saying anything. I started crying and I put my head in my hands. I knew it was all over. Soon they would put out the fire and finish us off.
"I'm not going anywhere." I herd a croak come from where my fallen teammate had been thrown.
"Aiden!" I opened my eyes to see Aiden looking at me and getting up. "Aiden! I knew you wouldn't leave me!" I yelled and hugged him.
"I would never do that!" He says, "You're my teammate... I promised remember?" He says and hugs me back. "Now lets finish them off!" He grins and grabs my hand. We bolted towards the two trying to put out the flames and quickly used the freezing spell like we did in the battle last night. Freezing them in there tracks. When we finished, I grabbed Aiden's other hand and we stared the spell.
"Calling darkness and light" I began and the wind started blowing harder than before around us.
"These villains must go!" Aiden shouted over the winds, adding his own words to the spell. We were now vanishing two people.
"With all of you might!" I said and our hands started to glow.
"Help vanquish our foes!" Aiden said completing the spell. We lifted our hands in the air and a bright light shot up into the sky. Then we pointed both our hands at Nathan and Amber and the light from the sky shot down at them lifting them into the sky, they rose up about 10ft into the air and burst open disappearing into thin air. We fell to the ground and Aiden wrapped his arms around me. We were both out of breath and breathing heavily. All the kids standing around came rushing towards us cheering. We stood up and watched all the kids around us, congratulating us and hugging us. I think that's when we both realized that we won.
"We did it..." Aiden mumbled and turned to look at me. He grabbed my shoulders and looked at me. His eyes full of excitement. "We did it!" He shouted with excitement.
"We did it!" I repeated looking at him, with the feeling of relief washing over me. He pulled me into a big hug, lifted me into the air and spun around. We were laughing and hugging everyone. We saw Dr. D slowly push his way threw the crowd. When he got up to us he hugged me and shook Aiden's hand.
"Congratulations..." he said in a formal tone. "Nice touch to the spell Aiden." He added. Aiden smiled and nodded.
"We won Dr. Demetrius! We beat them!" I said.
"For now..." Dr. Demetrius said in a low voice. "They will be back, there is no doubt about that but when they come back we will be ready and stronger. Congratulations though!" he said and shook our hands again. "Now please go get some rest." Dr. Demetrius said. After that all I could remember was walking to my dorm with Aiden and somehow falling asleep while we were walking. I think on Aiden's shoulder.

When I woke up, I was in my dorm room. Was it all just a dream? I sat up in my bed and felt the pain twigging threw my body right away. Nope, that was no dream. I looked around the room and see Natasha, Jordan, and Aiden all sitting on the couch. They were all talking when Tasha turned towards my bed.
"She's awake!" She ran towards me but slowed down, probably remembering what happened. She sat down on the bed and smiled.
"How you feeling hun?" She asked.
"I feel like I just got hit by a truck." I said putting my hand on my head.
"Try bolder." She said and we both laughed. Jordan came up and said he was glad to see I was awake. I didn't know him that well but he was still a good guy. Aiden got up and walked toward the bed. Tasha immediately got off my bed and smiled.
"Well I'm glad your feeling better. I bet your starving. Jordan and I will go down and get you something to eat." She grabbed Jordan's and dragged him out of the room. Aiden and I laughed and he sat down on the corner of my bed.
"So how you feeling?" He asked. I sighed and felt my side.
"Ok I guess, how about you?" I asked him.
"I'm feeling a lot better than you are, I'm sure. I couldn't remember everything when I first woke up this morning but everything came flooding back when I came to see you..." He said. "Do you remember anything?" He asked.
"I remember everything unfortunately..." I sighed, "but all that's behind us!" I said and he laughed.
"Yes, I agree! And next time I decide to date someone, I will make sure they are legit." He said and I laughed. "And if your next boyfriend turns out to be a jerk, just let me know and I will straighten him out for you." he added and kissed his muscles. I laughed again,
"I don't think I will need you too, but thanks anyway." I said.
"Yeah, you'll probably kick his ass before he gets the chance to be a jerk." Aiden said and we both laughed. Aiden was right the whole time, it was Nathan all along...
"Aiden... about the fight we had last night..." I began. Aiden shook his head and held up his hand.
"Don't worry about it..." He interrupted.
"No, I was a jerk. I should have believed you, but I took Nathans side instead. I'm so sorry!" I said.
"It's ok Carmen, you were just being a good girlfriend." I smiled and hugged him.
"And you were just being a good friend." I said.
"Yeah, I know." Aiden complimented himself. I laughed and pushed his shoulder.
"Conceited" I said. Aiden laughed and stuck out his tongue at me. It grew silent and I couldn't help but be happy that Aiden was ok... I don't know what I would have done if he got hurt... or left me...
"Thanks for not leaving me by myself out there..." I said and he looked at me confused. "You know... when I was crying, and telling you I couldn't do it on my own..."
"Oh, that! You don't have to thank me for that, I didn't do anything." he said.
"But still, its nice to know that you won't leave me out there next time we battle." I told him and smiled.
"I told you I would never leave you. I didn't leave you then, and I won't leave you now..." he said and grabbed my hand. "and you can count on that." he smiled.
"Thanks Aiden." I whispered and gave him a hug.
"You're welcome..." he said and hugged me back, "Oh and thank you for not leaving me there to die." he laughed.
"I would never leave you there to die!" I said as I pulled out of the hug and looked at him, "and you can count on that." I quoted him and smiled, he laughed.
"I'm glad I can." His face was only a few inches away from mine. He was staring into my eyes and I found I couldn't look away. Most importantly... I didn't want to look away. Suddenly his gaze turned to my lips and my stomach flipped.
"Carmen I..." He began but never finished, we both leaned in and kissed each other. He pulled me closer to him by putting his hands on my waist. I held his face in my hands and kissed him back. It was a soft kiss, full of passion, and didn't feel like Nathans. He pulled away and I smiled at him. We continued to look into each others eyes when Tasha came in. He looked away but slid his hand under mined while we ate our soup as Tasha talked about how awesome the fight was. We were laughing at how extreme she made it out to be. I liked Aiden, I didn't have strong feelings for him but I did have feelings for him. Maybe, in time, they would grow but for now, I'm just glad to have him as my teammate/partner/friend. As for Nathan and Amber, well they are out there somewhere, getting even stronger. And when they return, we will be ready...
