Wizard Academy - Chapters 12 & 13
Aiden and Carmen take a walk around campus. Aiden has a bad feeling about Nathan.
*Hey guys! Thanks for the comments again! I know I keep saying that but really, thanks! :D
I just want to say a quick sorry for posting chapters together. As I have said before, my story is already typed out on the computer and some of the chapters are just too short.
Tally-wa: You lived up to my expectations this time. I added a new chapter to the story just for you. It took me a while to get it typed up and perfect. I just wanted to get it good enough to put it on here. I hope this is a good enough fallout.
April & Tally-wa: Honestly I have no idea how I came up with the spells... I thought they were corny... lol O.o
Ranjeeta: I read your comment and right away I felt a boost of confidence! I hope I can become a writer when I grow up and your comment made me even more hopeful.
Danielle, Cassie, Gheelance, Ekat, Lola, Esmeralda: Thank you for your comments! Great predictions, but only one prediction is right. :) Here's the next chapter!
Enjoy! (:

It was about midnight when Aiden and I decided to leave the Magic room. I wasn't really tired and neither was he, so we decided to go to the coffee shop on campus. Sadly it wasn't open but we still were in no hurry to get back to our dorms. We still had the whole day to rest up. We decided to roam around one of the dorm halls for a while. It was really dark and really quiet.
"Its reeeaallly quiet!" I said and Aiden laughed.
"Well yeah no one's awake at this time, what do you think..." he said sarcastically. We started laughing then stopped when we felt a cold breeze go by us. The first thing that came into my mind was Nathan, I don't know why but he did. I could hear something in the little whispers of the breeze but I couldn't make out what it was saying.
"Carmen..." Aiden whispered, "We need to go! Right now!" He said. He grabbed my hand but I couldn't move; it was like I was stuck in my place. "Carmen let's go!" Aiden tugged on my hand but my feet wouldn't budge.
"I can't move! My feet are..." I stopped speaking when I felt something suddenly slide around my throat. It felt like a ribbon or something. I started choking and tried to pull the ribbon away from my neck.
"Carmen? Carmen, what's going on?" Aiden asked. I pointed to my neck. He quickly grabbed at the invisible ribbon around my neck and started tugging. There was no doubt he could feel it too. He just couldn't see it. Finally he ripped it from my neck and I choked and gasped for air. I fell to my knees and Aiden fell down right beside me and wrapped his arm around me.
"Whatever you are, we're not afraid of you!" Aiden shouted. It got quiet and by the lack of noise, I thought that whatever had attacked me had left. Aiden apparently wasn't as convinced. He stood up and looked around. "Show yourself coward!" he shouted. Suddenly he was floating in the air like someone was picking him up. "Put me down!" He shouted. After he said that he was sent flying through the air like a rag doll. He slammed into the wall and fell to the ground. I scrambled to my feet and ran towards him.
"AIDEN!" I screamed as I reached his unresponsive body. He was knocked out cold. I pulled his head onto my lap and looked down hallway. "Leave us alone!" I shouted. I saw two shadows appear in front of me. It was too dark to see what the two shadows looked like but I could see that they were maybe a boy and a girl. The boy look tall and the girl was short.
"Not until we get what our grandfather wants!" the girl said. Her voice sounded so familiar but I couldn't figure it out. I was too worried about Aiden. His head started moving and he slowly opened his eyes. "Aiden...?" I whispered to him.
"Get...us...out of...here..." he was able to choke out. He pulled his hand up and I took it. I snapped my fingers and we disappeared before the shadows were close enough to hurt us anymore. We re-appeared in the magic room and Dr. Demetrius was in there. I was practically in tears. We re-appeared the same way we were in the hall. I was kneeling in the ground and Aiden was lying on the ground, his head in my lap. He was still talking to me so I was a little relieved but I was still crying. "Don't cry Carmen I will be fine. Trust me." he said in a raspy voice. I cried even harder and looked up at Dr. Demetrius. "Please help, please!" I begged. Dr. Demetrius quickly ran over to us. He knelt down beside us and put his hand on Aiden's forehead.
"Carmen! Do you know any healing spells?" he asked me, I couldn't think, I wasn't thinking straight. I shook my head frantically.
"Yes, she does..." Aiden croaked out. I looked at him in disbelief. "Remember the healing spell I showed you?" he said and quickly if all flooded back to me. The spell he had taught me today.
"I remember!" I said. Dr. Demetrius obviously knew what spell it was.
"Even though it's a basic heal spell it should work, but Carmen you have to but all you have into it. This spell could take a lot of your energy." Dr. Demetrius said. I nodded my head and moved my hands under Aiden's head. I calmed myself down from all the tears and concentrated. Heal. My arms started tickling, and I could feel my body heat streaming towards Aiden. I could feel it wasn't enough so I put more into it. Heal. Again more heat streamed to his head. I was pushing all the heat I could with as much power as possible. Finally I could feel my energy was drained and I had nothing left. I felt really tired and weak but I could also feel my body rebuilding itself. Aiden quickly sat up and felt his head. I could tell he was no longer hurt.
"I feel great!" he said and looked at me, "Thanks!" he pulled my into a hug and Dr. Demetrius looked at me.
"You did it Ms. Olsen, well done!" he said calling me by my last name again. "How do you feel?" He asked. I shrugged, not really noticing how I was feeling. I was just glad Aiden wasn't hurt.
"I feel tired and weak..." I mumbled. I felt like I could go into hibernation at that moment.
"Only sleep can help that, you should be back to normal as soon as school starts tomorrow." He smiled and looked at the clock. "Maybe you two should get to bed, goodnight." he said, Aiden said goodnight and I waved a lazy arm in the air. He nodded and disappeared.
"Let's get you to bed..." Aiden said and, clutching my hand in his, snapped his fingers.
When we got to my dorm, I couldn't remember much but I do remember Aiden carrying me to my bed and tucking me into my covers. I also remember Natasha freaking out and nearly killing him. He told her it wasn't up to him to tell her and if I wanted to tell her in the morning then I would. She sighed and thanked him for bringing me to my room; he said you're welcome and disappeared. I fell asleep after that. When I woke up, I felt something hot, damp and soft on my head. When my eyes came to focus I realized it was Tasha with a washcloth on my head.
"Oh thank god you're awake!" she said and hugged me. "How are you feeling?" She asked
"I feel a lot better!" I told her and sat up. I felt a lot more energized.
"Oh good, Aiden wouldn't tell me anything. So I didn't know if you were just tried or you got drunk and passed out or if you fell and hurt yourself..." she said and I stopped her with my hand. I looked around then looked back at her.
"What time is it?" I asked her. She laughed and got up to put the washcloth on the table.
"It's about 5 in the afternoon." she said looking at her clock.
"I slept that late?" I asked and she nodded. She was making us some tea when I heard a soft knock on the door. Tasha opened it and it was Aiden. He walked in and without thinking twice he looked straight towards my bed.
"She's awake?" he asked Natasha. She nodded as she looked towards me.
"Yeah, she just woke up now. I was going to call you as soon as I got her some tea. Would you like some?" She asked. She didn't seem as mad at him as she was last night.
"No thank you." he said, and looked towards me as I got out of my bed.
"Hey, how you feeling?" he asked, I smiled at him.
"I feel like the energizer bunny!" I said and took a seat on the couch. He sat down next to me and laughed.
"Where's your drum?" he asked and I laughed. Tasha handed me my tea and sat down. I could tell she was going to want some explanation. So I sigh and we told her the whole story. Her eyes grew wide with terror as I told her about the Lord of the Dark and when we finished she looked scared.
"So that's why you have been going to that arena for the past 5 weeks!" she said and shook her head. "This is way too dangerous, are you sure you can handle it?" She asked.
"I'm positive we can handle it." I said and looked at Aiden.
"Well what if they attack you again like they did last night?" she asked.
"They won't, we weren't ready then, but we will be ready for them next time." Aiden said. The rest of the evening went on like that. She asked so many questions but at the end she understood that what were we're doing was the right thing.

After our long talk with Tasha, Aiden and I decided to go back to the magic room to practice some more. We dropped Tasha off at Jordan's dorm before we got there because she was too freaked out to stay in the dorm by herself. When we got to his dorm, Tasha knocked on the door and within seconds the door was open and they were hugging each other. It was so cute how they acted around each other; you could tell they were totally in love. When they finally stopped hugging each other, Jordan turned his attention to Aiden and me.
"Hey Carmen, hey Aiden, what's up?" He asked as he hugged me and shook Aiden's hand. I smiled and hugged him back.
"Nothing, just going to, uh, tutoring." I said and gave Tasha a look that told her not to say a word. She nodded when Jordan wasn't looking. "Is Nate around?" I asked. Jordan nodded and called Nathan to the door. As Nathan walked out the door, Jordan and Tasha disappeared into the dorm. Nathan smiled when he saw me and quickly kissed me. Then he looked up and realized Aiden was with me and his smile dropped into a frown.
"Nathan, this is Aiden, a friend of mine and my tutor." I introduced with a smile. Aiden shook his hand and smiled.
"Nice to meet you." Aiden said. Nathan looked kind of angry but shook his hand anyway.
"So you're the guy my Carmen has been hanging out with." He responded in a possessive way. I frowned but ignored his tone of voice. Aiden's smile slowly faded and he looked at me with a look that said 'help'. I looked at Nathan and smiled.
"Uh, we were just going to go to tutoring, but I thought I would drop by and say hi first." I said. Nathan just nodded and looked back into his dorm.
"Yeah ok, I gotta get back to work anyway. I had a late night last night." He said and laughed. Aiden and I both looked at him confused and he just started laughing again. "Inside joke." he said. He leaned forward and gave me a kiss. "You had to be there." He added then shut the door in our faces. I sighed and turned towards Aiden.
"Let's go..." I whispered softly and Poited into the magic room. Once I got there I quietly got a book off the shelf and sat down at the round table. Aiden Poited into the room shortly after and sat down next to me. It was quiet between us and obviously Aiden didn't like it.
"What's wrong?" he asked. "Is this about Nathan?" I signed and shut the book.
"I hate lying to him. I don't feel right telling him that we're tutoring when actually we're practicing our magic to defeat a big idiot who thinks he can control the wizard population." I sighed and took a deep breath.
"It's for the best Carmen." Aiden said. "Last night, you said the two people who attacked us in the hall looked like a boy and a girl. For all we know he could be one..."
"Don't say it! Nathan would never hurt me!" I shouted at him. "How could you even..."
"Carmen, all I said it's that he could be..."
"Well he's not!" I yelled.
"Yeah, that's exactly why he was being all mysterious about last night!" Aiden yelled back at me. "Think about it Carmen, he wouldn't tell us what happened last night and there was a boy in the hall that attacked us. Yeah he might never hurt you, but he sure looked like he would have no problem hurting me! He knows you and I are the most powerful wizards Carmen, he could just be using you!" Aiden shouted.
"You don't know that! You don't know anything! Nathan loves me! He said so himself!" I yelled and without saying bye I Poited out of there. How dare he even consider Nathan as one of the people in the hall last night!
