Within

A young heart beats in sorrow
And the wait for tomorrow lingers
Sadness fills this blackened heart
She sits at her beside, like any other night
Tears of black acid escape her eyes

The feeling of becoming numb inches its way through her body
Crawling beneath her skin

This feeling can keep her up all night
Food suddenly turns to ash
Things that should hurt, don’t.

Every day seems to get a shade darker
She can’t do anything right
They tell her sheds a whore,
A selfish bitch,
And has no purpose being here

So lost within herself
She begins to lose hope

But today she walks,
Walks down the school halls, covering everything up with a smile.
