Within Touching Distance. Chapter One

From the author of Whom To Choose and Are You The One. Hey guys, got a new one for you, it just popped into my head literally like ten seconds ago! I hope you like this idea, please comment and let me know if you want me to continue. I will be writing Are You The One again, pretty soonish, I've jotted down some ideas so it shouldn't take too long! Enjoy! Much Love xo
I looked at his face and knew instantly he was the one for me. It was just a shame he didn't even know how I felt about him.

I was 17 and had been in love with Alex my whole teenage life. There was nothing I could do to change how I felt about him; I just wished I could switch off my feelings. Alex was 20 and my older brother's best friend. To him, I was just his best friend's little sister. How great! Not.

Alex had always been nice to me when he spoke to me, in the 'ah she's cute' way. It was so annoying. Every time he was with Josh I tried my best to look sophisticated and older. It just never seemed to work for him. He was gorgeous; brown hair, brown eyes, and the nicest body I have ever seen. It was such a shame that he never noticed me. Until one day...

"Hey, Jasmin, is that you?" Alex stopped me in the street. I was shocked that he had even noticed me, he never normally did.

"Yes, it's me," I smiled at me. I guess I had changed a lot since I had last seen him. I had cut my hair and dyed it brown, it was so much different to my natural blonde.

"Wow, you look good! How long has it been now? Six months?" he looked so cute whilst trying to figure it out.

"Yep, about six months. Last time I saw you was my seventeenth birthday party, you remember?" I hoped he remembered. It was the night that he had punched my ex-boyfriend. Why? He tried to force himself on to me when I said no; and like the true gentleman he is, Alex defended my honor.

"Yes, how could I forget? It was the night you finally got rid of that idiot boyfriend of yours. I always thought you could do so much better. Be with someone like..." he stopped and I was curious as to why he didn't finish.

"Someone like who?" I asked trying to hide my eagerness. Was he going to say 'someone like me'?

"Ah, you know, someone who is better suited for you, someone who deserves you..." he blushed. I couldn't understand why he was being so nice to me! He only ever used to talk to me if I spoke first! Wow, this was a great development.

"Got anyone in mind?" I flirted, not knowing where my confidence was coming from.

"Not right now, no. But I'll let you know! Listen, I've gotta run, but I'll see you later if you're at home?"

"Yeah, sure, bye." I replied, finally defeated.

He was never going to say himself, I was just being silly!
