Within Dreams Part 7
This is the next chapter in my new book. In this chapter you will learn why Stephanie chose Damien. It will take a more close look on Matilda as well and why she is the way she is. Stephanie will be beginning to fight a war that has been brewing for centuries.
Matilda stood next to the outside smoking when I got to the store the next morning. She had changed in the last three or four days. I was a hybrid of half vampire and half werewolf. I clucked my tongue against my teeth in looking at her, "Mattie, why are you out here smoking? I thought you quit smoking." Mattie looked into my eyes her own opaque ones unclear. "Well I did quit. I had to start back because Lonnie is a sex addict. I can't take it, Steph. I mean sex all the time!!!" I raised an eyebrow, "Well I cannot give advice on sex...I mean vampires use their mind a lot. It's just weird. Anyway, my advice is just tell him he needs to back down a little. That's all you can do."
She looked at me and nodded seemingly that I made sense. When we went into the bank the other Stephanie stood at the teller line making transactions. I didn't pay any attention to who was at the line making a deposit. When he turned around, I bit my lower lip, "Adrian! What are you doing back?" He shrugged, "The war is starting and well...I had to come back." The war was just beginning and he didn't seem that impressed that I was a hybrid. He didn't seem impressed when I told him that I had married Damien. Now I really knew why I chose to marry Damien, why he was my destiny. Adrian had the 'I don't care' attitude and that clearly pissed me off.
Once Adrian was out of the bank I called Damien who was at home sleeping. I didn't have to sleep because I was a hybrid. I was vampire and werewolf. The vampire venom in me made me more vulnerable in the day time but I was still one of the strongest of either kind. Later in the day Lonnie came to see Mattie at work. He wanted to take her on a "picnic". She looked at me and smirked, "We shall return, Steph." I nodded and said, "You guys enjoy yourselves." When she came back to the bank she was in tears, "Lonnie broke up with me." This made me outraged. I don't know if it was the vampire venom or the werewolf venom but I wanted his blood. Lonnie was prancing around in the store when I confronted him. "Look dude, what you did to Mattie wasn't very cool. She respected you and loved you. You didn't even have enough respect for her to respect her wishes. You're nothing but a pig! I despise people like you."
Lonnie laughed, "And your point of standing here is what? She was a tool and she didn't like being used. I couldn't care less if I hurt her petty feelings or not. The girl remained a virgin till this last time. I was married to her for four months and nothing happened. Can you imagine living like that?" I went up to him and grabbed his balls, "Yeah I have lived like that. I was the virgin! You are an asshole and maybe you need to be reminded of what respect is!" I jerked his groin hard and kneed him there. He crumpled to the floor in pain. I spit on him and smirked, "Now take that to the next whore who gets your sorry ass!" I walked off and Mattie smiled at me, "You've changed so much since you have become a vampire hybrid."
I shrugged, "You don't deserve to be treated that way, Mattie. You deserve happiness and someone who will take care of you."Just then Jamien walked up to us and looked into Mattie's eyes. "And she need not look any further. I've been here all along." I just smiled and backed off. I was really happy for her. She and Jamien became mates and this is where the story takes a twist. Jamien and Damien were twins. Mattie became my sister-in-law and it was an odd relationship being kin to my boss. When time came down to us preparing for the wars and an alliance Jamien came to me. "I want you to give Mattie vampire venom. It will make you blood sisters." That made me quirk an eyebrow, "You want me to become blood sisters with my boss? That's gross and insane! I won't do it! Get your brother to do it!"
He sighed heavily, "Steph, you really are the only one who can do this! I wish you would just give it up. Please bite her and get it over with." I was being rather stubborn. "Nope non comprende! I refuse to!" He was being adamant about the entire situation. Mattie walked up to me in the bank, "I don't care about our situation, Steph. At work you are my banker and I'm your manager. When we are at home, you are my sister-in-law. It's two different situations." I sighed and my heart went out to her. She was so innocent in her understanding of situations. And though I didn't want to admit it, she was right. I nodded and asked to see her arm. I gulped and bit into her arm releasing vampire venom into her veins. Already it was odd biting my boss.
When she was changed, she thanked me. She was stronger in heart and mind. I was happy to see this change. When the war truly began was when we made the announcement on live television that vampires and werewolves were uniting in alliance. Vampires and werewolves alike were outraged at such an alliance. The only normal soul in our bank left was Stephanie. She was the only one that hadn't become a supernatural being. But that was soon to change...
The leader of another vampire renegade coven called Les Jesuva....and Stephanie would become his mate...and her name was Jennifer.
