Winter Dreams

The earth does more than sleep through winter. It evokes a spirit of celebration and love. Love now has a new color - white, a great way to show off the tinsel and neon...
Icicles, frost, and white winter dreams,
Harken the jingle of merry sleigh-bells;
Carols and mistletoe and vanilla creams,
And the delectable, glossy turkey swells.

The chill in the air and song on the lips,
Give never a moment to idle away time;
There are stockings to bloat before trips,
To memory land and old, familiar rhyme.

White mountain tops and layered path,
Give naughty boys the shovel and pail;
While galley aromas and hot tub bath,
Give little girls delight on flowered trail.

Shopping and hopping, skip a new beat,
Sing a new tune as you twirl a new skirt;
Spend all your pennies on a candy treat,
And melt with the juicy, fresh jello squirt.

Winter whites and deep frosty creams,
And pinks, yellows and crimson reds;
Make for castle and princess dreams,
Mashed potatoes and goulash spreads.
