Even if the winter season is considered to be harsh and limits free movement as in any other season, there are still many other activities which can be enjoyed by kids.

Preschool Winter Theme Activities

The preschoolers are a restless/active lot who need exercise on a continual basis for their physical and mental development. The winter activities for kids from the preschool mentioned in the following article should serve the purpose of providing them with the much necessary exercise.

Ice Skating: The ice skating activity is enjoyed by kids and adults as well. However, this activity can be specially used for the physical development of kids. Ice skating requires the person to maintain balance of the body. In this activity, maintaining the balance while moving quickly is important. Kids can attend private lessons or public sessions to learn the art of skating. These lessons/sessions should help in developing the confidence of children before directly participating in the ice skating activity.

Mud Puddles: The trails along mud puddles should be used to enjoy the splashing and stomping activity in the damp and soggy surroundings. Kids love to go on such tours where they can enjoy mud puddles. Protected forest lands are suitable for taking the preschoolers on such hiking tours.

Sledding: This is a fun activity for kids of all ages. A nearby snow-clad mountain slope should be chosen for this activity. Children should be instructed to wear all winter clothing (including hand gloves and suitable footwear) for this activity.

Snow Play: The activity of playing in snow should be a nice way of releasing the nervous energy. Snow-ball fighting is the commonly played game. It is not just snow-ball fighting that kids enjoy. Creating snowmen and other artworks out of snow should serve as a nice snow play activity.

Pin the Nose on Snowman: This is amongst the fun things to do in winter and most of us are aware of this game. The fun game of pinning nose on a snowman can be played in groups; blindfold the players at the time of playing this game. Points can be awarded to those who pins the nose accurately.
