Wings

About someone in a circus act, and the thoughts going through their mind...
Swooning
They all swoon
As I reveal my wings
My triumphant wings
Giant yet elegant
They chant
They cheer
As I extend
These glorious wings
They start to twitch
They raise me up
Gradually
I hover whilst they swoon
The wings start to beat
Repetitively
And I start to rise
Higher and higher
As I look down
They’re so far away
Cheering
Applauding
At this circus act
I look down
And realize where I am
And where I can go
I can leave
I can run
So I look across
I see the horizon
I lean and start to fly
Still cheering
They look confused
I rise up
Look to the distance
And fly
As my wings beat
Above my head
Over and over
I can go anywhere
Anywhere in the world
It is my oyster
